The disappearance of an Irish teen girl named Nora Quoirin in Malaysia rocked the nation back in August last year.

In case you missed it, the special needs child went missing at the Dusun resort in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, before she was sadly found dead 10 days later.

Flash-forward to 2020, it has been reported that Nora’s parents have decided to bring the case involving their deceased daughter to the court. According to The Star, both Meabh and Sebastian Quoirin have filed for a civil suit against the resort. They claimed that the owner, Helen Marion Todd had “failed to keep the premise safe and secure.”

The news portal further added that the suit was filed at the Seremban Sessions Court through the family’s representative lawyer, Sankara Nair. The first mention of the case will be held on 21st January (Tuesday).

Not only that, it was further reported that the plaintiffs (Nora’s parents) are claiming a special sum of RM152,707.90, in addition to the general court-sanctioned sum of RM30,000, much to the dissatisfaction of local netizens.

In this case, some of them have slammed the couple and started to point their fingers at both Meabh and Sebastian for being irresponsible parents to Nora. They also suggested that the resort should just counter-sue them back.

There were many highlights at yesterday’s Golden Globes award, but a glorious thing happened when Brad Pitt won the Best Supporting Award for his role in “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood”.

During the 56-year-old actor’s speech, the camera gave a generous glimpse at his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston’s reaction when he was up on stage.

In his hilarious speech, Pitt gave a shout out to his costar Leonardo DiCaprio, joking that “he would have shared the raft” with the “Titanic” star. He also made a rare comment by poking fun at his dating life.

“I wanted to bring my mom but I couldn’t because any woman I stand next to, they say I’m dating,” he said. “And that would just be awkward.” The camera then panned to Aniston, who chuckled at his funny remark.

K-pop songstress Park Bom (박봄) has been very open in expressing her desire to make a comeback with her former 2NE1 group mates.

Recently, the 35-year-old made an appearance at “The King Of Masked Singer” (복면가왕). After revealing her identity to the crowd, she shared with the crowd the downside of performing on stage without the girls around.

“Standing alone without the other members, it’s quite difficult. But I’m grateful at the same time for being given the opportunity,” said Bom being alone as a solo artist. She continued, “There are many things I have to think and reflect on. I will be strong for the people who support me while I look back to the past.”

When asked about a possible reunion for the “I Am The Best” jam makers, she responded by sharing, “We meet up quite often. If we are given the chance (for a comeback), I want to do it.”

Batman meets Thor? Yes please. Christian Bale is reportedly in discussion to star alongside Christ Hemsworth in the upcoming “Thor: Love and Thunder”.

If this pans out, it will be the Brit’s first comic book appearance since starring in a superhero movie as Batman in “The Dark Knight” trilogy. As The Hollywood Reporter puts it, character details are “being kept in Odin’s Vault”.

Collider writer Jeff Sneider reported that it’s likely that Bale will be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut but both his representatives and Marvel Studios have declined to comment. Having said that, the news of his casting in the upcoming Taika Waititi film is still an exciting tidbit for fans.

Comic Book and Newsarama have even come up with a few suggestions for the roles they could see the Oscar winner in:

TWICE leader Jihyo (지효) became the talk of the town following her sudden disappearance from Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 2019 back in December.

During the event, eagle-eyed fans noticed that she was only present at the red carpet as well as during the group’s scheduled performance.

Last Sunday, (5th January), the 22-year-old took to V Live to communicate with her fans. During the session, she came clean about the reason behind her on-and-off MAMA appearance. Read her response below:

“You know how I couldn’t appear on (MAMA) stage during certain moments. I am explaining because there seem to be some attention-seeking folks blabbering about it. I was just sick. LOL. How sorry I am, because it must have been fun for people to have something to point out. But there wasn’t much I could do about being sick.” 

However, fans reacted negatively to her statement. In this case, they pointed that her response was overly sarcastic and improper. Despite the backlash, a few die-hard ONCEs (TWICE stans) have come forward to defend the K-pop bombshell.

In response to the massive reaction, Jihyo took to the group’s official fan cafe to clarify the situation. According to the Gyeonggi-born starlet, the “fear of meeting people” has been getting worst following a ridiculous rumour about her being involved with Jung Joonyoung’s scandal came out last March. As a result, she has been suffering from anxiety and depression from the malicious comments.

In addition, she talked about her dating news with Kang Daniel that came to light on August 2019, claiming that “untrue things began to surface after her personal life went public”. Jihyo further added that “all the negative feelings like anxiety, depression, and fear grew immensely. As a result, it became difficult for me to stand in front of people, to say even a word, or even to perform.”

The negative thoughts then snowballed as time went on. “I cried throughout our 3-day concert tour in Japan. I performed at MAMA in that condition and I had to face a lot more people than I did during the concert,” she wrote on the lengthy post. Furthermore, Jihyo assured netizens that she isn’t asking for sympathy by dishing on her current situation.

36-year-old student Reynhard Sinaga has been making international headlines for all the wrong reasons.

As reported by BBC, the Indonesian native was found guilty for over 160 sex offences, including 136 rape cases involving a number of young men in the UK. The crime was allegedly committed from January 2015 to June 2017.

Dubbed as the “most prolific rapist in legal history” by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), we’ve come out with a compilation of 5 things to know about this culprit as well as the details of the disgusting crimes he made:

1. Who is Reynhard Sinaga and why was he in England?

Sinaga was born to wealthy Indonesian parents who are currently residing in Depok, West Java, Indonesia. He pursued his studies in Sociologies at the University of Manchester where he obtained a student visa and migrated to England in 2007. In 2012, he began his PhD at the University of Leeds.

2. He filmed his assaults and kept them in his phone

The culprit was caught in June 2017 when one victim fought him off and called the cops after he had regained consciousness during his assault. The police found out that Sinaga had filmed hundreds of hours of footages of his assaults. 

It didn’t stop there, though. He was also reported to have taken some nude pictures of the victims. Scary, huh? 

3. He drugged the victims before assaulting them

According to judge Suzanna Goddard, she was sure that the poor men who fell prey were under the influence of a date rape drug such as GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate). In this case, the victims had zero memory of what had happened after they became conscious.

4. Victims’ personal items were kept as memories

Sinaga would wait for his preys outside of local nightclubs before luring them to his flat in Montana House, Princess Street. He would often offer them to go somewhere to have a drink or call a taxi.

It was also revealed during the mentioning of the case that Sinaga also took some of his victims’ personal belongings after he had fulfilled his sexual pleasure. The items include clothes and even handphones that were kept as a form of ‘souvenirs’ left by the victims to be kept as memories.

5. Dubbed as a sexual predator by the British legal team

During the hearing of the case, judge Goddard described him as an “an evil serial sexual predator who has preyed upon young men who wanted nothing more than a good night out with their friends”. The police also noted his skilful tactics in manipulating the victims. According to the officials, he was able to find his prey in just 60 seconds!

The UK news outlet further reported that the judge has ruled his life sentence with at least 30 years in prison.

Earlier today (Tuesday, 7th January), 20th Century Fox delighted fans with 4 brand new concept art on their Twitter page. This was in conjunction with the first look at the Avatar-inspired Mercedes-Benz car, Vision AVTR.

In speaking with Cnet, James Cameron talked about the world of Pandora and its various natural means of transportation. The director shared that he’ll be bringing more mechanical in the next few “Avatar” films. “I also love the hard stuff. The vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, ground vehicles, weapons, the hardware. I’m a total geek when it comes to that stuff,” he said.

As you may know, the upcoming sequels will explore below the sea. That means it’ll not just feature an ocean’s worth of aquatic creatures but also various boats and submarines. “We have a lot of cool vehicles for you,” the director added.

K-pop superstar PSY (싸이) has successfully wrapped his headlining year-end concert late last month.

However, the sold-out event drew massive amount of debates among K-netizens for its alleged sexually explicit contents portrayed by the dancers.

The show depicted a dance battle session between the male and female dancers, where the “Gangnam Style” hit maker acted as the DJ. The girls stripped off their white shirts while doing their suggestive routines, before wetting themselves with water in their black bralette worn underneath the top.

As mentioned earlier, the segment generated criticism among many online. A group of Korean netizens took to an online community post titled “PSY’s Shocking Concert” that was posted yesterday (7th January) to slam the singer as well as the event.

In this case, most of them believe that the dance battle showed prejudice against the female community. They also pointed that PSY was sexually objectifying the dancers to fulfil his pleasures. Check out some of the highlighted comments here:

• “Why do they have to dance like that in front of so many people. No, they’re not even seeing women as people…”
• “I was seriously shocked by the photos (of their dance). If you didn’t know it was a performance, it really looks the same as porn.”

On the other hand, other fans argued that the male dancers also went shirtless and danced in an indecent manner just like the female dancers. Most of them pointed out the double standard exists in Korea, where people think it is okay for men to show off their skin while it’s considered wrong for the women.

• “I’m a woman: If you think this is problematic, how can you watch movies like “Moulin Rouge” or “Can Can”? There’s a sexy code in all cultures. How do you even live if you’re uncomfortable by every single thing?”
• “If men take off their shirts and move their chests, fangirls will go mad. If women do the same and wear a bra top, people will say ‘Ew pervert’. These judgemental women are ridiculous.”
• “Didn’t the dancers wear it because they wanted to? Why are you attacking PSY?”
• “It was a dance battle against the male dancers, and the male dancers ripped off their shirts and danced sexily but why are you focusing on the female dancers who did the same?”
• “Are you sure you’re not judging them with biased eyes? I saw the whole performance and it was just amazing.”

At the time of writing (Wednesday, 8th January), PSY has yet to give any statement to address the case. Probably he’s been busy managing his company, P-Nation.

Zul Ariffin took things into his hands when his alleged leaked nude video went viral last month.

Instead of bringing the case to the police, the “Hantu Kak Limah” actor opted for a more calm and chilled approach and remains unbothered with all the slanders happening, as long as it doesn’t affect his career negatively.

“There’s no point in taking action (against the culprits), it’s the internet. They can do anything in front of their eyes, you know. I don’t really care about it. I feel that this issue doesn’t make sense as long as I can work and shoot as usual. That’s it, I’m not mad (of the person who spread the clip). They can do whatever they want because I’m still here, doing my job,” he said to mStar.

In addition, Zul claimed that he has been living his normal life despite the controversy. According to the 33-year-old hunk, he has no problem facing people in public. “I have no problem whenever I’m going out on the streets, they will act like nothing happened,” he clarified.

He further added that he was initially concerned that the scandal might sabotage his career as an actor. “I’m not a celebrity or an influencer, I’m just an actor and my job is to act,” Zul shared, before adding, “Because people hire me to do my work on set. That’s the only thing that I worried about.”

The Indonesian-born student was found guilty of drugging as well as sexually assaulting up to 195 male victims after luring them to his home in Montana House, Princess Street, Manchester. As a result, he was sentenced to lifetime imprisonment.

After the final verdict was released, the father of the 36-year-old has finally decided to address the news.“We accept the court’s decision. His punishment fits his wrong-doings. I don’t want to discuss the case any further,” the property tycoon told BBC Indonesia.

Interestingly, Sinaga was described as very popular by a female friend who studied with him at the University of Indonesia. “He was very sociable, friendly, easy to get along and fun to work on projects with,” commented the unnamed individual.

Another former acquaintance of him back in Manchester claimed that he would often bragged about how wealthy his family is back in his hometown. “They have a big mansion located in Jakarta. He would boast about his maids, drivers, etc,” the person told Daily Mail. He further added that his family members were unaware that he’s gay.

Not only that, it was revealed that Sinaga refused to return to Indonesia because his parents tried to set him up with a few local girls. “His parents wanted him to get married and have his own children,” he shared.

“He’s so obsessed with Spice Girls. However, he said his family never understood him and considered him as weird,” the person added in the chat. Furthermore, his friend further recalled that Sinaga “used to go on dates a lot” and would “sleep around a lot” as well.

Rejoice fast food lovers! KFC has debuted the all new White BBQ Crunch.

This Chinese New Year, instead of “painting” the fried chicken with the usual red or brown sauce, the F&B chain has opted for a BBQ sauce that is white.

“The KFC White BBQ Crunch is a different take on our popular chicken specially created for the festive season. With a mild Hot Sauce Glaze over the popular KFC Hot & Spicy chicken, topped with the rich smoky White BBQ Sauce, it is an overall mouth-watering and satisfying experience that you wouldn’t want to miss!” said Angelina Villanueva, Chief Marketing Officer of KFC Malaysia.

Word has it that the new sauce is a combination of “smoky, sweet, tangy and spicy flavours all in one crunchy bite”. Available for a limited time only, the 2-pc combo set (which comes with two pieces of chicken, whipped potato, coleslaw, and a drink) costs RM15.30 while the 3-pc combo set is priced at RM20.30.

Everyone has been patiently waiting for it the 2nd season of “Sex Education” to come out. Guess what? Looks like their prayers have been answered.

Netflix has just released its first ever trailer for the upcoming sequel of the famed teen comedy recently. And apparently, one particular scene has managed to catch everyone’s attention for the wrong reasons.

Based on the screenshot above, the word cum has been compared to Korean food kimchi. As you may know, the famous traditional side-dish is considered as a huge symbol of pride for natives.

As a result, many fans have been giving negative reactions and argued that the popular streaming platform was being racist by making use of the local delicacy to describe such offensive word.

Being on the internet recently, many people would have come across the viral conversation leaks of our ex-prime minister Najib with his wife Rosmah.

While many netizens were amused by the entire situation at the 66-year-old’s expense, in truth, the leak does also lead to a lot of question mark about our law and the ongoing case against the man who supposedly stole RM2.6 billion.

As pointed out by Twitter user @zafrulzaf, who asked how the SPRM (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) was able to pin point the date of the conversation to July 2016? If so, Zafrul also asked about the purpose of the leak, with him and several other netizens suspect that it might be concerning the infamous 1MDB scandal.

He later added in the thread whether SPRM was right to release the recording to the public, as the scandal was still considered an ongoing case and should be submitted to the court first. Before asking the most important question of whether Rosmah was actually Malaysia’s 6th Prime Minister all along, as she was the more assertive figure between the pair in the recording. The last question was made due in part for humour, of course.

Beside what was mentioned, some netizens have also pointed out the uncomfortable nature of the wire tapping as it raises concern over one’s privacy. However, it should be noted that the government has been doing this since 2012, under Najib’s reign as PM, with his government making amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code that allow these kind of spying action by the government to be conducted legally.

So in the end, whether you think the duo in the leak conversation are guilty or not, hopefully, this new revelation can help investigators to find the truth amidst all the controversies and ultimately make the right call on Najib’s ongoing case.

It’s official y’all; FT Island’s Choi Minhwan (최민환) and wifey Yulhee (율희) have revealed that they are welcoming a pair of cute baby girls!

In case you missed it, the lovebirds had previously announced last August that they’re expecting twins. Their first child, Jaeyul was born in May 2018.

During the latest episode of KBS’ “Mr. House Husband”, the lovely couple received a visit from Yulhee’s dad. He brought along two pink-coloured boxes for them. “These are gifts for my granddaughters,” the ex-K-pop idol’s father told her.

Expressing their gratitude and excitement after receiving the news, Yulhee shared during the interview session, “I have been silently and vocally hoped for twin daughters. When we learnt that the gender of the babies are girls, I thought to myself, ‘I’ve achieved everything now’. I felt like I was floating on air the whole day.” 

Minhwan also told that he always wanted daughters. “I think it’ll be so cute to have two daughters that are similar. I want to dress them to in couple clothings. I want to give them princess outfits that I couldn’t give to my son,” he shared in the chat.

Major congrats to the mummy and daddy! We’re definitely looking forward to see the babies soon 😍
