It has always been known to fans that Godfrey Gao (高以翔) has a girlfriend named Bella Su Xiang Han. So it’s understandable that the spotlight is on her, after the actor’s sudden death.
However, Bella Su has been keeping relatively quiet on her social media over the whole ordeal. Though, it was reported that she and several others, were in China to bring the “Shanghai Fortress” actor’s body back to Taiwan.
This silence did not last long, as she eventually got back to her Instagram account to update her biography. In the new description it reads, “Whatever we are… You and I will always collide.” This, of course, was her way of expressing her grievances over the passing, with them having a relationship in the past.
Others that have also express their sadness, include the Louis Vuitton model’s best friend, James Mao. It was Mao that reportedly introduced Su to the Taiwanese actor, which lead to them dating each other afterwards. In a series of photos on his Instagram, the basketball player let loose on his thoughts about losing his best friend, all of which you can find below:
“The Jade Pendant” star was reported to have suffered a heart attack during the filming of “Chase Me” (追我吧), after working non-stop for 17 hours. This lead to massive criticism being thrown at the popular Chinese reality show, questioning the show’s staff competency and safety around the set.
Footage of some of Gao’s final moments in the show have also leaked online, showing the actor being completely exhausted and unsteady in his steps. This should have been an indication that something was off, but was ultimately failed to be noticed by the staffs.
A week has passed since we have received the shocking news of K-pop starlet Goo Hara (구하라)’s death.
Her sudden passing has devastated not only to K-pop fans, but also her fellow family members and colleagues in the Hallyu scene as well, including former KARA teammate Nicole Jung (정니콜).
Recently, the 28-year-old took to her Instagram to address the sad news. She posted a few throwback photos of her with Hara, along with a lengthy caption that reads:
“To Hara whom I love. I really miss your silly smile and laugh. When we meet again, we will have a lot to say to each other, right? You know it, right? Until then. I will live my life well. I will hug you tight when we meet again. I love you.”
For those who don’t know, both Nicole and Hara debuted together as members of multi-platinum girl group KARA under DSP Media. Their hit songs include “Pretty Girl”, “Mister”, “Lupin” and “STEP”. The group disbanded back in 2016 after all of the girls decided not to renew their contract with the label.
As reported before, Goo Hara was found dead at her apartment on 24th November (Sunday). May Hara’s soul rest in peace.
Uh oh! We have received some bad news for customers who have purchased their items using the Taobao (淘宝网) app recently. Apparently, it is most likely that buyers will end up loosing the purchases.
This is because a cargo ship carrying over 879 tons of 11.11 sale goods was involved in a collision with another ship that happened near the Fuzhou City, China, as reported by Mothership.sg.
As a result, orders are unlikely to be delivered to customers, as all the items had reportedly sank along with the cargo. The unfortunate incident happened on 20th November (Wednesday) at around 9pm.
According to E.T News and CGTN (via Mothership.sg), 2 of the ship crews were reportedly found dead. Thankfully, 7 other crew members suffering from injury were rescued and were taken to the hospital.
As a result of the unfortunate incident, Taobao has stepped in to clarify that customers will get refund on the missing items. However, refunds are only available exclusively on the Alipay (支付宝) platform for now. Mothership.sg further added that this incident marked the first time “Taobao has failed to ship its items due to an accident.”
For those of you have ordered goods from Taobao, do make sure to double check the status of your items to avoid unwanted circumstances.
K-pop songstress Sunmi (선미) recently professed her love and support towards former boss Park Jin Young (박진영). In this case, the 27-year-old posted a photo of Park Jin Young – also known as JYP among K-fans – during their hang-out session yesterday (Sunday, 1st December).
“Fever Fever,” Sunmi wrote on the caption, before adding, “Please give him lots of love. He is going to hold a concert, too.” At the time of writing (Monday, 2nd December), the photo managed to gain over 600,000 likes online.
However, not everyone were to keen with the post. As a protest, many fans decided to unfollow her on her social media platform. In response, the “Gashina” singer left some hilarious comments on the same post. “I’ve lost about a hundred followers in a minute since I uploaded the picture,” wrote Sunmi. She further added that she “didn’t mean to scare” her followers away with the picture of the famed producer.
Following the unexpected situation, JYP took to his official Instagram in order to clear the air. He updated his profile with similar photo of himself, along with the caption, “Sunmi, I heard there were people unfollowing you after you uploaded this post. Sorry sister TT,” written in both Korean and English.
In reality, Sunmi did not seem bothered by the fans’ response towards her actions. Instead, she has continued to show her undying support for JYP’s recent comeback. The former Wonder Girls star even posted another picture of the legendary singer-songwriter’s album cover.
For those who don’t know, the “Who’s Your Mama” jam-maker has just made his long-awaited comeback in the music scene with a song called “Fever”, featuring rapper SuperBee as well as musician BIBI.

There’s a new fad going on over at the United States where people are exposing their bums completely bared under the sun.
This new fad is called perineum sunning, and it didn’t take long before Hollywood’s elites joined in. One of which, was apparently Thanos himself, Josh Brolin.
Taking to his Instagram account, the 51-year-old actor shared his unpleasant experience performing the fad. Advising people to not made the same mistake he did while also sharing away a very NSFW photo. In the post he joked, “Tried this perineum sunning that I’ve been hearing about and my suggestion is DO NOT do it as long as I did.”
He continued with, “My pucker hole is crazy burned and I was going to spend the day shopping with my family and instead I’m icing and using aloe and burn creams because of the severity of the pain. I don’t know who the f**k thought of this stupid shit but f**kyou nonetheless. Seriously.”
He then added several hilarious hashtag to describe his current predicament. The hashtag include #blackholefriday, #blackholesun, #severeperineumburns, #santamonicafiredepartment, and of course #a**holecare“.
This lead to fellow “Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds, 43, burst out laughing in the comment section. He responded with “Bwahahahahahahha!!!!!” on the post, showing that he was indeed humoured by the story. “The sun ain’t supposed to shine there,” someone else commented.
The fad was popularised by Californian influencer Meagan, who went viral after posting several picture of herself in the nude practicing the fad. She said that her morning ritual of perineum sunning is the key to better sleep, increased energy and a higher sex drive. However, doctors have since cautioned people from copying this action.
In any case, it good to see that the two stars are very much still close buddies with each other. And we wish Brolin all the best, while recovering from his burned bumhole.
Fans of the local favourite Butter Chicken rejoice, as local restaurant franchise, The Chicken Rice Shop, has brought back their mouth-watering Grilled Butter Chicken for a limited time!
Available from now until 5th January in both meal set or a la carte form, the franchise’s boneless Grilled Butter Chicken is certainly a dish you need to keep an eye out for. However, a quick look at the menu will prove that they’re more than just chicken and rice.
Serving a variety of local favourites, the restaurant that started in 2000 has always prioritise customer feedback. This has allow them to stay one step ahead of the curve, opening up over 100 outlets around the country just to keep up with ongoing demands.
For a company that prides themselves on serving quality dishes with affordable prices, it’s hard to go wrong when you order their signature Chicken Rice. There’s a misconception though cause many patrons assume that the franchise only serves Chicken Rice when in actuality other items like Curry Laksa Noodles and Wan Tan Mee are also served here.
Last month, rapper Altimet even churned out a dope rap verse when ordering his meal at a local Chicken Rice Shop. Check it out:
Going back to the Butter Chicken, there are three choices available for customers itching to try out the dish which is the 1,2 or 4 person(s) meal set. The following dishes are also included in the set depending on your order:
Quarter Chicken (roast/steamed/soy sause)
Nyonya Pai Tee
Penang Rojak
Penang Famous Chicken Rolls
Pak Choy with Oyster Sause
Spicy Savory Ladies Fingers
Sai To Fish Ball Soup
Of course, rice and soup ar provided along with the Grilled Butter Chicken in the set.
One thing to note is that everything we tried were on the sweet side of things. One dish we particularly enjoyed was the Spicy Savoury Ladies Fingers that is not too spicy but have just the right kick. The Nyonya Pai Tee was also a nice welcome to our meal.
For the Grilled Butter Chicken itself, it was good. It’s hard to go wrong with butter after all. We also liked that the meat dish is completely boneless. This allows for a much better dining experience.
The other note worthy addition to the Grilled Butter Chicken being reintroduced to the menu, is the addition of Tropical Layer Tea. This drink has the taste of 7-Up with a fruit punch and added Gula Malacca. It’s an explosion of sugary sweetness that rushes into your mouth, which somehow was surprisingly pleasant though in a sip instead of a gulp.
Overall, our experience at The Chicken Rice Shop was actually pretty good. The meals will definitely have you filled and it’s perfect for a family outing. There are few restaurants that can match the price and food found at The Chicken Rice Shop.
For more information about the limited time offer, please visit the franchise official website here.
Malaysian celebrity Emma Maembong has been hospitalised after suffering from high fever as well as bacterial infections.
The unfortunate news was announced on her Instagram account, via her personal admin. The caption reads, “Hi guys. This is Emma’s admin. Just for your information, Emma got admitted last night due to a very high fever and bacterial infection. Do pray for her speedy recovery, okay 🙂 Thank you.”
A post shared by EmmaMaembong (@emma_maembongofficial) on

Not long after that, Emma then took to the same account to address the news herself. According to the “Cemburu Seorang Perempuan” actress, her health condition is improving now. She further expressed her gratitude and thanked everyone for their warm wishes and prayers.
“Hi everyone. Just to update, the fever still comes and goes. But thank God I’m feeling much better today. Thank you for all your prayers and du’a,” the 27-year-old wrote.
In another news, Emma recently caused quite a stir among the internet community for promoting a jamu (traditional supplement) that is rumoured to back a woman’s virginity. She posted an advertisement on her Instagram account to show her support for the product, as well as advising her followers to seek some “professional” advice from the founder, known as Kak Lis.
“Okay I want to share something with y’all. To anyone who is having internal and external problems. Come and check out Kak Lis homemade jamu’s official Instagram,” Emma wrote, before adding, “Everyone has a dark past, right? As human beings, we often do mistakes. Try and contact Kak Lis. She is very open-minded. She can hear all your problems especially relating to the above ad.”
The post has in turn received a massive amount of backlash from local netizens, slamming the Terengganu-born starlet for her lack of common sense in promoting those kind of products. On the other hand, some also argued on the effectiveness of the supplement.
Check out some of their comments here:
Despite that, Emma has not been bothered by the negative feedback on her post, as she is currently recovering.
Godfrey Gao (高以翔) is finally back home in Taiwan; although not the way anyone intended.
The 35-year-old model-actor passed away last Wednesday (27th November) after he collapse while filming Chinese reality show “Chase Me” (追我吧) in Ningbo, China.
According to reports, Godfrey’s body was transferred out of Hangzhou Funeral House yesterday morning (Monday, 2nd December) where it was preserved, and transported to Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport for a flight to Taiwan.
Godfrey’s second brother Charles oversaw the procedure to get his casket from China to Taiwan. His family and 23-year-old girlfriend Bella Su were also spotted receiving his coffin in grief. Their mum Mrs Gao has also selected a smiling photo of him for his funeral.
Here’s a better look at the official photo:
Godfrey’s management agency Jetstar Entertainment announced that the late actor-model’s funeral will take place next Sunday on 15th December. His body will be buried in Chin Pao San Cemetry, a private cemetery in New Taipei. Celebrities like Teresa Teng (鄧麗君), King Hu (胡金銓), and Li Tien-lu (李天祿) were also laid to rest there.
His Penang-born mother selected the photo of Godfrey with his trademark smile because she hopes that friends and fans will remember him for his warm personality and kind spirit. It’s also a testament to all the heartwarming stories about him that came to light recently.
Sin Chew reported that fans will be allowed to pay their respects and bid Godfrey farewell on 6th December from 10am till 5pm.
A restaurant selling Airline foods? It’s certainly an unusual concept, but it’s exactly what we are excited to check out with AirAsia’s Santan restaurant.
Opened in Mid Valley Megamall, the new restaurant features a menu filled with some of AirAsia’s in-flight hot sellers. They include Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak and Uncle Chin’s Chicken Rice.
According to NST, the general Manager of Santan Restaurant and T&CO Cafe, Catherine Goh, has said that 30% of the restaurant’s menu came from AirAsia’s in-flight menu. Goh also added that the rest of the menu was added by a development team of 5 chefs and culinary students in a period of 9 months.
All the dishes served at the restaurant will be ASEAN inspired, with orders that can placed at a kiosk like the ones at McDonalds. This is part of the effort done by AirAsia to keep up and adopt technology, in order to maximise customer satisfaction.
Speaking of technology, there are also talks of opening up AirAsia’s own food delivery app, as plans of collaborating with existing companies such as GrabFood and Foodpanda are being discussed. This is to ensure that the company can keep up with the times as well as further provide a greater reach for their patrons.
In celebration of the store’s opening, Santan will be giving away some of their Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang for only RM5. However, this offer is for online orders only, with it also being one order per check out when you use the promo code “SANTANRM5” after you log in with your BIG member account.
The franchise has plans on opening 100 more of these outlets next year, with global expansion also in the works. Right now, Santan’s menu offers combo sets, rice, noodles, snacks, and drinks.
The details to Santan’s first outlet are as follows:
Venue: F-051, First Floor, Mid Valley Megamall, Lingkaran Syed Putra, Mid Valley City, 58000 Kuala Lumpur
It is safe to say that many of us are still devastated to hear that ex-KARA member Goo Hara (구하라) is no longer around with us. The news has not only impacted Kamilias (KARA stans) and K-fans worldwide, but also to her friends and family members as well.
In light of the sudden unfortunate news, all of her fellow teammates of KARA, and also former SISTAR member Soyou (소유) have taken to their social media accounts to pay their tributes to the singer-actress.
KARA’s ex-leader Gyuri posted an all-black photo yesterday (Monday, 2nd December) along with a lengthy-caption that reads:
“It has been a week. I don’t even know how the days went… Time doesn’t care for either of us and keeps going. Maybe this is what they mean by a time’s promise. People have been asking me whether I am okay and I don’t know how to answer them. I just stayed at my house. I can’t organise my thoughts. It’s just a blank white.
Honestly, all I can do is pray and maybe that makes me closer to you… Maybe it’ll be a little better this way. Doesn’t everyone else feel like that? I still don’t know what’s going on, and I have no sense of reality and am just numb. I think this is better than thinking. I am now not the girl that you know…
If we acknowledged each others’ weaknesses more, maybe it would have comforted you more. There are things I cannot say to you and there are things I want to say to you. I’m sorry and I love you. I’m really sorry and I love you. Our pretty Hara. Rest well.”
“There’s so much that I wanted to say from the bottom of my heart, but it’s all meaningless now so… Hara, Hara. I’m going to work hard at life so that people will remember you for a long time. Rest well until we meet again. When we do, I’ll tell you I love you,” wrote the “Hello, My 20s” actress.
On November 28th (Thursday), the 25-year-old took to her Instagram to bid her final farewell to her former KARA teammate. She posted a photo of a mirror selfie with the late Hara, with a long caption written in Korean and Japanese that reads:
“We live while expressing what we want to express, and doing what we want to do. Everyone is lonely. We were born on this world in that way. We were maybe aware of it ever since the moment we came out of our mother’s womb and into the world. That’s why we should find out exactly what we want and what is the most precious thing to us, and then face ourselves 100% honestly.
Please, fill yourself up with love from now on. Express yourself more. Cherish both yourself and the people who love you. I believe that I don’t make that come true, it’s that which guides me and makes itself come true through me. I hope that you always feel an effortless happiness… #
I will remember everything about my precious unnie (elder sister) — her goofy smile, her small frog-like feet and her so strong hands that always held me warmly, how she seemed as though she might break if you touched her, and how she was so pure, affectionate, and tenderhearted. Just as she always used to say to me ‘I love you’ I’m going to continue to say ‘I love you’ a lot too. I’m going to work hard as I live my life. I’m so, so sorry and thank you, I love you.”
“To unnie (older sister), who’ll be shining brightly in the sky. Our pretty and lovely unnie. I miss you. I’m sorry, thank you, and I love you. I won’t forget you. I will always pray (for you),” Youngji wrote on the caption.
Former SISTAR member Soyou posted a blank black picture on her Instagram account on Thursday (28th November). The lengthy post was initially written in Korean. Soyou then replied by writing the same caption in English on the comment section.
Prayers that all the KARA members as well as Soyou will stay strong. #RIPHara
Lee Seung Gi (이승기) made his last and final pitstop for his “Vagabond Voyage” tour in Kuala Lumpur over the weekend.
During his Malaysian fan-meeting, the event was divided into 3 segments, 1 of which was “Big Data: Update Talk” where host Owen Yap asked him about his experience filming the Netflix hit series “Vagabond”.
During the candid session, the 32-year-old actor recalled that his favourite experience were the action and fighting scenes – particularly those that took place in Morocco. Yep, those James Bond-esque stunts which he mostly executed on his own. Filming was long and tedious (injuries and all) but the end result was well worth the sweat and tears.
Of course, the topic of a 2nd season came up. “Do you want season 2? It was very meaningful and satisfactory work for me. I’ll be very happy if there is 2nd season. At the time being, nothing has been decided yet. So, please stay tuned,” Seung Gi assured the crowd.
Not satisfied with the generic answer, a fan in the audience shouted for a “Vagabond” season 3. Surprised, Seung Gi responded that there might not be enough storyline unless his character Cha Dal-gun has a brother to join in on the drama series. Is that hint?
Additionally, Seung Gi coudln’t help but blush when the clip of Cha Dal-gun and Go Hae-ri (played by Bae Suzy)’s intimate moments were played on the big screen. The screams reached its loudest when the shirtless scene of Seung Gi was shown.
Get an eyeful of his nudity here:
When asked which is harder – kissing Suzy or getting injured from the action scenes, Seung Gi cited the former. Not only is it awkward locking lips with a co-star but 20 members of the crew are glued on the couple.
Did your hearts flutter during those smooching scenes? If the answer is yes, it means the actors did their job. Now if only production and the cast can sort out their schedule and start filming for “Vagabond” season 2.
Feel free to check out our review of Seung Gi’s “Vagabond Voyage” tour in Kuala Lumpur here.
Sasa, the popular skincare retail chain, is closing its doors on all of their 22 stores in Singapore. The decision came after it was reported that the outlets in Singapore have been suffering loss for 6 consecutive years.
In a statement on Monday (2nd December 2019), the Hong Kong based retailer told reporters that despite their best efforts in restructuring their management to improve the store’s display, results were still unsatisfactory.
This move will see around 170 of their employees being affected. However, the retailer has added that the workers will be fully compensated according to local employment laws and regulations.
The decision was part of Sasa’s new strategy to put more emphasis on their core market back in Hong Kong, which saw a drastic decline in performance after a fall in tourist numbers from mainland China. The strategy will also see the company placing more focus in Malaysia, which they believed to have higher potential for further development.
Sasa representatives have since stepped out to ensure customers that despite the closing, it only represented 22 of their 265 stores, so there isn’t any significant impact. This came after they ensured investors that they remain a viable business, with plans underway to further developed the retailer’s e-commerce business.
South Korean rookie actor Cha Inha (차인하) was reportedly found dead at his home by his manager, as reported by local news outlet ENews24.

Kim Sohyun (김소현) recently sat down in an exclusive interview where she talked about her experience working in the period drama “The Tale Of Nokdu” (조선로코-녹두전).
She opened the chat by talking about her chemistry with main lead Jang Dongyoon (장동윤). “We did a lot of script readings. He was so friendly so it was easier for us to get closer. We were able to get along well despite the slight age gap,” said the 21-year-old starlet.
Sohyun further added that since both of them have a lot of arguing scenes, they were afraid of how it would affect their chemistry. “I didn’t want it to look awkward, and same goes to him as well. So, we made an effort to be like friends,” she shared during the session.
The former child actress was then asked about her opinions on Dongyoon becoming a hot topic for portraying cross-dressing in a Korean drama. In this case, Sohyun commented that the “School 2017” star looked “so pretty that even the male staff members agreed on the fact as well. I got quite envious at first and joked, ‘Do you think Nokdu is prettier than me?’. And the camera director responded by saying, ‘Of course Dongjoo (Sohyun’s character) is the prettiest.’ But he was truly beautiful. After a few scenes together, I managed to get used to it.”
Sohyun then talked about his on-screen chemistry with fellow co-star Kang Taeoh (강태오). “He gave off a really strong first impression. But in reality, he was very gentle. Whenever I saw him seriously immersed himself in filming, I became serious as well,” said the “Love Alarm” actress. She further added that she considered Taeoh as an older brother. “Later on in the drama, I teased him by saying, ‘Don’t look at me with such hateful eyes,” recalling on how much she hates his character in the series.
She further added by describing Taeoh’s character in the 32-episode drama as “very greasy. I thought from Dong Joo’s perspective and thought that he was always that way. I also didn’t like the way the other gisaengs (Korean courtesans) looked at me with jealousy whenever he did that in front of me. In real life, I like my romance to be very clean and simple,” said Sohyun.
Additionally, Sohyun addressed the ongoing rumours surrounding her and Dongyoon. Her response was priceless, though. “It is good to hear such rumours,” Sohyun clarified, before adding, “I was happy that people enjoyed our scenes together, and I filmed while laughing a lot. People said we looked good together, and I thought, ‘Me and him?’ but I couldn’t say anything because he might get upset.”
Sohyun further dished on the kissing scenes between her and Dongyoon. In this case, she claimed that she “was so embarrassed because we had to film (the scene) to make it realistic. For me, it was not a big deal for me to film a kissing scene. But I got embarrassed because the scene was done like a kiss that can be seen in real life. There were so many kissing scenes for a historical drama,” Sohyun shared during the chat.
Sohyun further recalled that in one interview, Dongyoon claimed that the scene was merely for ‘business’. “In this case, I responded by saying, ‘Aren’t you drawing the line too firmly?’ and he said, ‘Why does it matter?'” she said during the session. “I was embarrassed, so I was naturally shy as well. On the film set, the directors said it was just ‘business,’ so I was able to do scenes a little more comfortably,” she concluded.
“The Tale Of Nokdu” tells the love story of the titular character (played by Jang Dongyoon) who disguised himself as a woman to enter an all-women village; and a woman (Kim Sohyun) who refuses to become a gisaeng. For those who haven’t watched the series yet, feel free to watch the teasers below:

The former beauty queen stated that she was called for a meeting with a mysterious lady who claimed that she knows everything about the baby’s life-threatening situation. In this case, Rihana didn’t went there in person. Instead, she sent out a friend of hers, who managed to record a 40-minute chat with the unknown source.
Feel free to read some of the conversation here:
“Oksana should think hard about what she is doing. She is not right to keep speaking to the media. She has many secret enemies, so she must withdraw her lawsuit from the court. She must cut her expenses. She needs to gain some time, the boy’s life now depends on it. There are people who are very interested in this child, and he is so small and not protected… I have information that he is in danger, and the situation is escalating.”
The English publication further reported that the ongoing scandal happening between the former flames has become a hot topic not only in their respective home countries (Russia and Malaysia) but also in other locations like Geneva in Switzerland where the Sultan Muhammad V is apparently a regular visitor.
In response, Rihana has hired a lawyer and human rights expert Ivan Melnikov to handle the case. “During the conversation, the woman said several times that Leon was in mortal danger, and Voevodina could prevent the threat to his life by withdrawing her lawsuit against her ex-spouse to recover alimony, and stop her appearances in the media,” he said, demanding for a thorough investigation on the alleged threats.
Additionally, it was reported that the 27-year-old model is currently in “a safer place”. “For the sake of my son, I had to leave for another city, which, of course, I keep secret. I don’t know where the threats (might) come from, and I really hope for the protection of our law enforcement bodies and the state,” she told Komsomolskaya Pravda (via DailyMail UK).
“But it was very indicative for me that when there are thousands of restaurants in Moscow, and this meeting took place in the building where the Moscow law office of my ex-husband is located,” she further added in the interview.

Disney has been rolling out a lot of live adaptation of their classical animation films lately with one of them being “Aladdin”. Despite getting mix reception from critics, the film still earned a whopping $1 billion at the box office.
In most cases, starring in a film that earned over the billion dollar mark would seem like a gateway to Hollywood stardom for many. However, that doesn’t seems to be the case for actor Mena Massoud, who revealed that he hasn’t been in an audition once since the release of “Aladdin”.
In an interview he did with The Daily Beast, the 28-year-old let loose about his frustration over his current situation. The star shared he was getting tired keeping quiet over the ordeal and want to tell people that it’s not all “dandelions and roses” even if you starred in a big time Hollywood film.
“I’m kind of tired of staying quiet about it,” the Egyptian said. “I want people to know that it’s not always dandelions and roses when you’re doing something like “Aladdin”.”
He continued by saying that many people had assumed that he became super rich and has received plenty of offers, all of which he revealed was far from the truth, “‘He must have made millions. He must be getting all these offers.’ It’s none of those things. I haven’t had a single audition since “Aladdin” came out.”
Massoud further added that he didn’t expect people to just hand him big time roles, but he would have preferred if Hollywood just gave his a chance, “I’m sitting here being like, OK, ‘Aladdin’ just hit $1 billion. Can I at least get an audition? Like I’m not expecting you to be like, here’s Batman. But can I just get in the room? Like, can you just give me a chance?”
This experience has caused the “Aladdin” actor to “pull back” on some of his expectation. “I think since ‘Aladdin’, my expectations for things releasing and what they’re going to do in my career, I’ve had to really pull them back,” he told the interviewer.
The Hollywood newcomer continued, “Because, you know, I got the same question about ‘Aladdin’ and it was like, ‘Oh, you know, ‘Aladdin’s’ coming out. How do you feel about what that’s going to do to your career?’ The big truth is I haven’t really seen a big anything from it.”
He concluded the interview by stating that he doesn’t know what the future holds for his career, “As for whether people are gonna discover me from it or what it’s going to do, I literally have no clue,” he says. “I can’t tell you I know how things are going to work out anymore.”
We do hope that he will be given more opportunities in the future, as it will be ashamed if Hollywood cast out an actor that has been in such a successful film.
