Hong Kong actress Priscilla Wong (黃翠如) has found herself in hot water during her appearance at the taping of the TVB’s “52nd Anniversary Gala” (萬千星輝賀台慶), now known as “Cherish Hong Kong, Distribute Entertainment TVB 52 Years” (珍惜香港發放娛樂TVB 52年).
During the “True and False” segment of the show, Priscilla claimed that she has seen bestie Tony Hung (洪永城) completely naked during their working trip to Turkey. She then jokingly described his penis by comparing it to the size of her pinky finger.
Priscilla’s alleged “joke” on the show has in turn received a significant amount of backlash among enraged fans. In this case, The Straits Times (via The Star Online) has reported that fans have filed over 400 complaints against the 38-year-old.
As a response, Priscilla came out with a statement, admitting that she “behaved inappropriately” on the show, as reported by local portal HK01. “I shouldn’t have said things that stepped over the line,” the “Married But Available” star clarified, before adding, “After watching the clip, I realised how disrespectful I was.” She further assured that she will be more careful in her actions in the future.
On the other hand, Tony seemed unbothered with all the ongoing controversy surrounding both him and Priscilla. Instead, he insisted that reporters shouldn’t have taken her statement too seriously. “She actually didn’t see me naked, unless she peeked and I didn’t know. I’m not upset with her at all,” said the 35-year-old.
Both Priscilla and Tony have been buddies for a long time, with the two making constant appearances in several entertainment shows together.

2019 is turning into a year of reunion. Following the news of Spice Girls and My Chemical Romance, it seems that the Pussycat Dolls have decided to joined in as well; reuniting for this week’s “X Factor: Celebrities”.
Unfortunately, one member that won’t be returning to the group is Melody Thornton. So the group will henceforth be a 5 piece performance that feature the likes of Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta.
The reunion was officially announced on Scherzinger’s Instagram account yesterday (27th November 2019), where she uploaded a picture of a black heart with the group name in pink and white. The other members followed soon after with all of them captioning their post with #PCDReunion 💖.
In all actuality, rumours of the reunion have been around for months now. The “X-Factor” judge was even asked about it earlier this year over at ET Live. During that time, the 41-year-old played it coy on the whole reunion possibility, but now we know why.
The group has stated that they were inspired by the reunion of another girl group, Spice Girls, claiming that the tour of the British girl group was “inspiring” to them.
The “Don’t Cha” singers will also go on a tour of their own after an almost 10-year hiatus, with them taking their break from each other back in 2010. Their tour is set to start on April next year with all 8 of their shows being staged in the United Kingdom.
Taiwanese actress Ili Zheng Jiachun is known for a lot of things, but she is best known for her 34D breast size. It is with these assets that she manages to be popular following a successful chicken chop commercial.
In a recent interview with Taiwanese media, the “True Love Is A Ghost” star made headlines. She revealed that despite being single, she has a partner whom she sees twice a month in order to manage her sexual needs.
“Whenever I have sexual needs, the opposite party can help me. It is normal for adults to have this life,” she told media. Unfortunately to the mystery partner, he would find this year’s meeting few and far between as she revealed that, “this year, I only met him for meals as I am too busy.”
Zheng, who was nicknamed Ji Paimei or Chicken Chop girl, has said in 2012 that she wasn’t planning on getting married. Stating that she is happy staying single and that she’s not the sort of person that needs anyone to accompany her.
The “One Night In Taipei” star has also described herself as a very difficult person who is strict to not only herself but to others as well. On the other hand, when discussing the reason why she remains single, Zheng answered that she views relationship differently from others.
She explained, “So why trouble the other party. If you find they are unsuitable at a later stage, it will be a messy break-up.”
The 8th and final season of the widely popular series, “Arrow”, is coming to an end. This means that it might be last time we see these colourful cast of characters fighting crime together in one show.
Now hold those tears, because before they leave on their next journey, our friends from Warner managed to catch up with lead actor Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen) and his right hand man David Ramsey (John Diggle), to share their thoughts on the final season of the epic DC series.
1. How would you describe the final season of Arrow?
STEPHEN AMELL: It would be way too simplistic to say that we’re playing our greatest hits in the final season, but that’s exactly what we’re doing. It’s a greatest hit. In the first three episodes, Oliver has closure with five characters that he wouldn’t necessarily have thought he would ever have closure with. In very unexpected ways, too. He’s left a lot of loose ends along the way, but I hope that we tie up as many of those loose ends as possible over the course of the season.
DAVID RAMSEY: Well, we have to grapple with this Monitor situation, which is something that we’ve never had to face before. In addition to that, we also have to bring a conclusion to all these individuals. What happens to Laurel Lance [played by Katie Cassidy Rodgers]? What happens to Dinah Drake [played by Juliana Harkavy]? What happens to Wild Dog [played by Rick Gonzalez]?
2. What went through your mind when you read the first script of season eight?
STEPHEN AMELL: Frankly, I got very emotional because I started to think about the end. More specifically, I was really, really pumped that my character got to confound Josh Segarra [who plays Adrian Chase/Prometheus] because that jerk was always 10 steps ahead of me. I thought we were going to end in season seven, but the idea of having 10 episodes to bookend an eight-year run was a great one. All my favorite shows have always had an ending and I feel like an end date changes a show for the better.
DAVID RAMSEY: I was floored by how quickly we’re getting into it. We usually have 22 episodes a season. When you have 22 episodes, you know when you leave the A story and start working on the C and D story. With season eight, there’s no C and D story. This is an A and B story throughout. That’s obvious in the first episode.
3. What goes through your mind when you think back about your work on the show?
STEPHEN AMELL: This show has given me a platform that extends so far beyond my ability to just appear on your television 23 times a year. It has given me a voice for philanthropic endeavors; for social issues that I am interested in. I got to take batting practice with my childhood favorite sports team. I’ve had cinematic opportunities that are the direct result of the work that I’ve been doing here. And I know that when this is all said and done – after I drop off the face of the Earth for approximately for two months – I know the next chapter for me, personally and professionally, is going to be exciting.
DAVID RAMSEY: For Vancouver specifically, I have a handful of memories of rooftop scenes in the rain at two o’clock in the morning. As much as I love Vancouver, I will not miss them. I feel sorry for Batwoman. I feel so, so sorry for Batwoman because if anyone is taking over that dark legacy, it’s that show and they will find themselves on many a rooftop in Vancouver at two o’clock in the morning in the rain. I don’t envy them at all!
4. How does it feel to say goodbye to Arrow?
STEPHEN AMELL: I’m very emotional about it, but the time is right. Look, I’m 38 years old. I got this job when I was 30. Before this, I’d never had a job for more than a year. The fact that I’ve done this for the better part of a decade and I’m not going to do it anymore is a little frightening.
DAVID RAMSEY: It was heavy. It was emotional. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting it to be emotional. I think it hit me a little harder than I thought it would.
5.What is the legacy left behind from a groundbreaking show like Arrow?
STEPHEN AMELL: That’s a really difficult question to answer because it’s very, very difficult for me to look back at what we’ve done in the series from the equivalent of 30,000 feet when I’m deep in the middle of it. I guess the proof is in the pudding, if you know what I mean? You’ve now got Arrow and The Flash, as well as Legends, Supergirl and Black Lightning. Then you’ve got Iron Fist, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Defenders. You’ve also got Agents of Shield. We proved the concept that you can do a superhero show on TV and make it work, although we should also mention that we were piggybacking off Smallville; That should never go unmentioned. I feel like the legacy we leave behind is that we produced a bunch of content that people dig and there are now many more of these shows on television. It’s not going to last forever, but I’m glad we were the first.
DAVID RAMSEY: Well, if Arrow had lived on its own for eight seasons and people were entertained by the show, I think that would’ve been accomplishing what the show was supposed to accomplish. However, I think Arrow is a little bit different because it has spawned show after show after show. It’s unprecedented what has happened with Arrow, and that’s not just within DC shows. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did not exist before Arrow. Neither did Gotham. Neither did The Defenders on Netflix. This isn’t about tooting our own horn, but these shows just weren’t around before Arrow, so I feel like Arrow is much more than just a good piece of television or an influential piece of television. It’s monumental. I think Arrow has left a legacy that will probably never be done again in this way. It’s epic.
Check out the trailer for the final season below:
Many thanks to the people at Archetype for this wonderful opportunity and don’t forget to catch the final episode of the series, over on Warner TV at Unifi TV Ch451 and Astro Ch 719, every wednesday at 9pm.
Popular celebrity-entrepreneur Neelofa recently shut down all the allegations that she will tie the knot sometime in 2020.
In fact, Neelofa – or known as Lofa in short – said there has not been any talks happening among her family members about the rumoured “marriage”.
“No, I’m not getting married next year! How can this issue arise? Honestly, there wasn’t any discussion involving family members (on the matter). What can I share for now is that both my brother and also my same-age cousin are getting married soon,” Lofa clarified with mStar.
The former “Dewi Remaja” winner further added that there is no reason for her to keep her relationship hush-hush from the media. Instead, she is more than happy to share the good news to her beloved supporters, should a special someone come along.
“Maybe because of the fact that I’m already 30 this year. So, they thought that it is time for me to walk down the aisle. There is no reason for me to be so secretive when it comes to my marriage. Trust me, if there is someone special in my heart, I will definitely blast the news to everyone,” Lofa clarified, before adding, “We are not living in the old era where we have to keep our dating lives hidden. If I have plans to move on to the next phase, I will share it with everyone.”
During the session, Lofa was also asked to address the ongoing issue between her sister Noor Nabila and Sharnaaz Ahmad. For those who don’t know, the “MeleTOP” host has been very vocal in voicing out her opinions about their relationship – both online as well as on live TV.
In this case, Lofa (full name Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor) has felt that it is not fair to accuse her of regularly interfering in the couple’s marital affairs. “I think it is unfair for everyone to accuse my family of getting involved in Nabila’s business. She is my sister and also my mother’s daughter,” she said during the chat.
Lofa further added that “his family members have probably taken to their social media to express their opinions (on the issue). So it is not relevant to just point fingers on one side only because we’re both voicing out and supporting our loved one.”
But she did not deny that she is disappointed with Sharnaaz’s action to prolong their dispute by refusing to divorce Nabila. “As a sister, of course I think the current situation is difficult for her to endure. I really feel sorry for her, as I feel like this issue should have been settled easily and concisely, but for some reason it has became more complicated,” Lofa added.
Lofa concluded by assuring that she will give her full support to her elder sister no matter what will happen in the future. “We are very supportive to each other. Not just me, but the whole members of the family as well. All I can say is, Nabila is happy now. She has moved on with her life and we all love Jebat (Nabila’s son with Sharnaaz),” shared Lofa.
Lofa was seen during the launch of her premium collaboration project with Italian footwear brand Giuseppe Zanotti held at Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur yesterday (Thursday, 28th November).
After the news of Godfrey Gao (高以翔)’s shocking death came to light recently, K-pop fans have shift their focus to WJSN (Cosmic Girls) member Xuanyi (宣仪)(선의).
The 35-year-old model-actor had passed away while filming on the set of Chinese variety show “Chase Me” (追我吧) on Wednesday (27th November); after suffering an apparent heart attack.
In this case, Xuanyi was also reportedly present at the venue. Ujungs (WJSN stans) as well as K-fans worldwide have in turn expressed their concern towards the girl group member after she changed her Weibo profile picture to all-black on Thursday (28th November). Additionally, sources claimed that she had left the shooting location at Ningbo on the day of Gao’s death and returned to Beijing with the other crew.
In addition, a video of Xuanyi during her stint on the show became the talk of the town recently following the unfortunate news. Based on the clip below, Xuanyi was seen having difficulty standing up. “Help me, I don’t have any strength left,” the 24-year-old said in the clip.
The staffs did not seem to bother in helping her though. As a result, fans have voiced out their worry on Twitter – expressing their concern towards the Hainan-born K-pop idol. Check out the full clip and fans’ comments here:

godfrey gao passed away because of this show and now xuanyi is left to fend for herself when she could have drowned? this show needs be to be shut down. they clearly cannot provide a safe environment for their cast https://t.co/4IOlT6Vh4x
For those who don’t know, the show “Chase Me” has been receiving backlash from everyone for their extremely dangerous contents as well as the crews’ unprofessionalism when it comes to handling safety matters.
The Disney acquisition of Fox has brought along a fair number of speculation about which Fox’s owned Marvel characters will appear in the MCU first. All eyes are currently on Mr Doom himself.
According to Charles Murphy, who has a good track record about Marvel news, the studio is planning to introduced Dr Doom in the upcoming “Black Panther 2” as their main villain. Murphy also cautioned that nothing is concrete at the moment but he did hear the rumour from a reliable source.
From what Murphy was told it seems that, “Victor Von Doom will began expanding his empire, conquering parts of Africa and, ultimately, come into conflict with the nation of Wakanda and the Black Panther.”
It should be noted that the upcoming Marvel film is still in its infancy period, as director Ryan Coogler has only just started outlining the script. However, this doesn’t mean that the main story hasn’t already been thought up beforehand with Kevin Feige calling the shots.
There has been numerous accounts in the comics where Doom and Panther have face-off many times, thus giving the rumour more ground to stand on.
If anything, there is no denying that seeing the Latverian ruler come up against the King of Wakanda would be a great flick. Giving a great way for Disney to introduced one of the most beloved villains in the Marvel Universe to the MCU.
This still begs the question though – wasn’t the main villain supposed to be Namor? Henry Golding and Luke Evans are among the fan favourites to take on the role.
The Pussycat Dolls have officially reunited and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for these ladies. One member, however, is noticeably missing – Melody Thornton.
Although the official Pussycat Dolls Instagram page follows all the members, including Melody, she has yet to follow repay the favour. The 35-year-old vocalist is also the only star who hasn’t change her Instagram display picture.
The “Dancing On Ice” star has remained mum on the matter. There’s no mention of the Pussycat Dolls reunion on her socials at all. Instead, she recently uploaded a video of her belting out a song on Today Extra. The aforementioned song in question, is her new single “Love Will Return”.
Does this mean Melody Thornton is pursuing her own solo career instead of doing both? There’s no question that the reality star contestant has always wanted a larger share of the singing parts. Nicole Scherzinger has always dominated 95% of the vocals across PCD’s first 2 records.
Melody has previously express that she has no desire to rejoin Pussycat Dolls. “I’m not the same at 34 as I was when I was 24. So the idea of getting together again sounds like a nightmare,” she was quoted as saying.
She explained about how she felt under-used as a vocalist, “They said, ‘we’re going to have Nicole do all of the recording, you’re going to have to learn to dance with the rest of the girls’. And for me it really affected my confidence because I wasn’t using my best asset (my voice). And I was the weakest dancer.”
Fellow group member Ashley Roberts also shed light on Melody Thornton’s absence, saying, “Mel’s got a lot of projects going on in life. She was included in all of this, she’s our sister, the door is always open, but it just wasn’t the right timing for her right now. We wish her well.”
Taiwanese actor Godfrey Gao’s death has taken everyone by surprise, leaving many fans and fellow stars alike taking to social media to express their sorrows on his passing.
However, many are wondering how is his rumoured girlfriend, Su Xiang Han (or Bella) coping? The 22 year-old was allegedly introduced to the Louis Vuitton model by former basketball star, Mao Jia En, and the two have been secretly dating ever since.
According to China Press, Su along with two bosses from the Taiwanese model’s agencies, Wang Jun and Qiu Xiu Zhu, has reportedly flew to Zhejiang, China in order to collect his body. China Press has also added that the body will be send back to Taiwan.
It was reported that Gao’s friends were in tears when the news come to light. One of his former boss, Qiu, has stated that the actor’s condition was perfectly fine before the shoot. She added that he was the most easy-going actor she has ever worked with.
Not much is known from Su’s side of the story, as she’s been keeping relatively quite from her social media. The rumour of her dating the “My Other Home” star started when a picture of her with the actor’s dog started surfacing on her Instagram (some of which was deleted).
More than that, they were even rumours that the two were even secretly married in July of 2017. However, “The Jade Pendant” actor’s manager has stepped up to deny the rumour stating that his client was “busy with work” and had “no time to date”.
Han Seohee (한서희) recently took to her personal Instagram account to pay her tribute to the late Goo Hara (구하라). She posted a picture of her last text conversation with the “City Hunter” actress.
“You know what I said during the viewing while holding your hands right? I hope that you can keep your promise. If you don’t come in my dream, I will be really upset. Please show up in my dream. I have so much to talk to you. Hara, I love you. Love you forever,” the former K-pop trainee wrote on the caption.
For those who are interested, the full translated conversation reads:
Goo Hara: “I will go to your house directly.”
Han Seohee: “I will scout you then.”
Goo Hara: “I miss you. Seohee, I want to cry and I want to talk with you. It feels like hell.. I will sleep now… I will just sleep tomorrow and take my pills. My baby, my tears are coming out.”
Han Seohee: “Don’t cry. Come and spill out everything to me. Everything will be okay.”
The post has in turn received mixed reactions among everyone. In this case, some showed their love and support to her, asking her to stay strong. On the other hand, some have pointed out Seohee’s manipulative approach in social media, as evident in her previous cases with several K-pop idols before this.
What do y’all think about this? Do you think Seohee has another agenda up in her sleeves?
After a day of price slashing and insane promotions from Black Friday, you would have thought that most companies would have taken a more relax stance on their promotion over the weekend. Well, Starbucks isn’t most companies.
In celebration of their 300th store opening, the iconic coffee seller has decided to introduce a brand new promotion over the weekend. In which, customers can get a second cup of Frappuccino for just RM0.30.
The offer period for the promotion start and end on 30th November 2019, during the hours between 10am to 12pm. The second cup of Frappuccino also has to be of equal or lesser value from the first Frappuccino ordered for the one-day promotion.
Do note that the promotion will not stack with other promotions and is not eligible for Starbucks card rewards. In addition, the offer won’t be available for delivery service and will not be valid for outlets located at Genting Highlands, KLIA and KLIA 2.
So remember to treat yourself with a delicious cup of coffee (or two) only at Starbucks.

“Hey GSC Cinemas, I am Donnie Yen. I’ll be coming to Malaysia on 11th and 12th of December to promote upcoming movie ‘Ip Man 4: The Finale’. Hope to see you all there,” the 56-year-actor was quoted as saying.

The news of Goo Hara (구하라)’s death has taken everyone by surprise, with many friends and fans already express their sadness over her passing.
However, the sadness quickly turned to rage as netizens found out that the former Kara member’s parent will be receiving her inheritance.
For those that didn’t know, the K-pop star actually moved out from her parents house at the age of 14 following their divorce. This lead her to live with her aunt before enrolling as a K-pop hopeful. Despite her parents’ neglecting her, Hara has maintain a close relationship with her brother.
This is why fans were outraged upon knowing that the late singer’s money and inheritance will be given to her family, and that include her parents who abandoned her. According to Korean custom, if the person died without leaving behind a will, their possessions will divided among their parents and siblings.
Many netizens think that the aunt who raised her deserves it more than her mum and dad who forsaken her.
Now with the Fox acquisition sealed, Disney will be looking at what they can do with all the rights they just acquired. Some of which includes characters that Disney/Marvel can now add to the profitable MCU.
Marvel having already announced a host of series and movies through 2022 for the MCU has left out one notable character, Hulk. However, the actor that portrayed the green giant, Mark Ruffalo, gave fans quite a treat when he mentioned, “Hulk vs Wolverine”.
In an interview with Men’s Health, the 52-year-old gave his thoughts on where the direction is going for his character after “Avengers: Endgame”. “Kevin Feige just asked me last week if I had any more ideas or stories for the Hulk,” he said in a panel over at Tokyo Comic Con.
He later added, “And I said yeah, I think there’s still some stories to tell. And he said, ‘Well why don’t you come in and tell me about them and we’ll see if we can find a place for you in the Marvel universe?'”
He would later let the audiences know his answer for that question, “Hulk vs. Wolverine,” he said. “I’d like to see that. Hulk vs. Wolverine.”
Honestly, we agree with Ruffalo’s answer but we do recognise the complication it might bring. First off, a new actor would be needed to step into the shoes left vacant by Hugh Jackson, who at this point is still the de facto Wolverine in the eyes of fans despite him retiring the role.
Secondly, the rights of the Hulk character in movies is actually shared by both Disney and Universal, so it will be interesting to see how the Universal side of things would feel about a “Hulk vs Wolverine” film.
However, we believed if Disney/Marvel really want it, they would have the assets and talents to make the movie happens. And wouldn’t that be a movie we’ll be throwing money at to see.
We finally got to witness the final large scale tour of the legendary Hong Kong singer Karen Mok (莫文蔚) that took place on 30th of November 2019. Named “The Ultimate Karen Mok Show”, the concert was packed to the brim with fans at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil.
Organised by StarPlanet, fans that arrived early for the show were greeted with a pre-recorded video by Mok herself. In it, she lay out the ground rules for the concert – things like smoking and drinking alcohol were a big no no in the arena. However, she did invite audience to dance along if they feel like it during the show.
At the beginning of the concert, fans was treated with a performance by a 19-year-old girl from our own shore. Although, she may be Malay (meaning that Cantonese isn’t her first language) she still managed to sing her Cantonese song beautifully as if she’s a native herself.
Then in a roar of cheers, the main act of the show appeared on stage after a short introduction video. The Hong Kong star was fearless in her opening act of “Let There Be Light” (“如初之光”).
After a few track, the star then went for a quick change of clothes as the crowd was entertained by the dancer’s dance-off routine. She then reappeared on stage in a sparkling white dress, singing her single “Twelves Floor” (“十二楼”).
Each song transitioned beautifully on to the next, as the 49-year-old took to the piano on stage for her next song “Overcast” (“阴天”). The crowd was floored by her act as she slowly made her way on top of the piano. What’s followed was another round of cheers as she continued on with her next song “Lonely Lover” (“寂寞的恋人啊”).
Taking some time off her songs, she asked the crowd whether they were enjoying themselves. This resulted in them responding with glee as she asked them to join her for the next song, “Growing Fond Of You” (“慢慢喜欢你”), which the fans gladly obliged.
There weren’t just Mandarin songs that was present in her concert, as she showcased her multi-lingual talent with her own rendition of “Close To You”. She then proceeded by waving at her fans that earned her cheers that can be heard from the heavens. The crowd then followed along as they sang her song, “Love” (“爱情”), with her.
The screams only got louder as the night went on. She brought up the fact that she’s only making her debut here in Malaysia despite her 26 years in the music business. Thus, giving her more reasons to churn out more songs for the night as she invited the crowd to join in on “Outside World” (“外面的世界”).
The singer-actress also showed her Hong Kong roots by performing her Cantonese track “The Way You Make Me Feel”. However, the performances of “Fates of Half a Lifetime” (“半生缘”) and “He Doesn’t Love Me” (“他不爱我”) swept us off our feet, as she was able to truly show her talents that make her the legendary singer that she is.
In need of a break following some powerful acts, audiences were introduced to some martial art inspired dance performance. Mok later returned to the stage with another instrument. This time it was a traditional one – Guzhang. We got to see her more patriotic side with “Lifetime Love” (“一生所爱”) and “Love And Loyal” (“情与义”).
After a few more stellar hits from the Hong Kong icon, the crowd was greeted with a video akin to a credit sequence. In it, the members on display were all in their football jersey as they introduced themselves as team Ultimate. They then walked onto the stage in the same jersey, live, as Mok gave another round of introduction for her crew.
She also took the time to thank others that weren’t on stage, such as the show’s director Alice. At the same time, she thanked the crowd for coming all the way to her show. She gave a special shout out to Datuk Jimmy Choo, the renowned shoe designer, that was also present at the show.
Other special guests that appeared for the night were two mascots – a tiger and a deer. The two were the singer’s way of announcing that she just joined MYCAT, a local conservation group, as their ambassador. Being an ambassador, she showed her charitable side by asking people to help preserve the environment and to protect the rare animals within them.
Being the crowd pleaser that she is, she decided to do a few more songs, starting with “10 Minutes Before Night” (“午夜前的十分钟”). To round it all off for the night, she ended the concert with “Suddenly” (“忽然之间”) before bidding farewell to all that came and see her.
“After so many years, I’ve always looked forward to do a show in Malaysia and previous organisers have also tried to organise one (concert in Malaysia). But because of various reasons it was unsuccessful. (The stars align for) this tour that I was able to come here,” she said in an interview after the concert.
She continued, “Today, the audiences’ reception was really great. We came and had this wonderful opportunity to do such an amazing show, it’s definitely worth it.”
After 40 songs, 9 (or so) costume changes, and multiple cheers, it was truly a privilege to witness the phenomenal show by the amazing Karen Mok. Till next time 😉
Over 1800 fans of singer-actor Lee Seung Gi (이승기) gathered at PGRM Tower, Cheras on Saturday evening for his fan-meeting show, “Vagabond Voyage”.
The weather was extremely fine that day, perfect for AIRENs (as fans are lovingly called) to show up earlier, despite the event starting at 7pm. Die-hard supporters of the “You’re All Surrounded” star filled in the Dewan Wawasan Hall by 5pm.
Seung Gi’s past hit songs, such as “Because We Are Friends” and “Losing My Mind” were played as fans settled down to their seats. After a few moments, the lights went out as the 32-year-old appeared on stage wearing a black top layered with a matching coloured studded cardigan, as he opened the show with “Because You Are My Woman”. After a sweet opening number, emcee Owen Yap came out to officially kick off the event.
For those who don’t know, Kuala Lumpur was the last stop for his “Vagabond Voyage” fan-meet, after successfully wrapping his tours in other cities such as Tokyo, Taipei, Manila, Singapore, and Bangkok.
Seung Gi was asked about the meaning behind the title of the fan-meeting. In this case, the Hallyu heartthrob responded by explaining that, “The name ‘Vagabond’ is taken from the drama I’m starring in, while the term ‘Voyage’ can be compared to travelling. So, this event is equivalent to a trip to meet all the fans.”
1st Segment: “Big Data: Update Talk”
Without wasting any minute, the event proceeded with the first segment of the night called “Big Data: Update Talk”. The screen showed 3 keywords on what Seung Gi had been doing since last year; Fan-meeting, variety and “Vagabond”.
For the 1st keyword “Fan-meeting”, footage of Seung Gi’s past fan-meeting shows in other countries were shown on the wide screen. Seung Gi was then asked if there is any difference when it comes to his experience with fans from other countries. He then emphasised the fact that almost all of them were very passionate, but they have different ways of expressing their feelings. He then continued by saying, “Malaysians are very passionate. I can feel the heat”.
Moving on to the next keyword “Variety”, MC Owen pointed out on his stint in Korean variety shows. “I have been busy for the past 2 years,” Seung Gi clarified. He was then asked about his experience in SBS “Little Forest”. The “My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho” actor then responded, “There were a lot of fun parts working with the little kids”. So, what was the tiring part of working with them, then? “Everything was good but they were reluctant to go to sleep. So it can be a little scary during the night,” the handsome hunk recalled.
They then proceeded to talk about his appearance in the 2nd season of “Busted”. Owen asked about the most interesting part of the show. Seung Gi responded by saying “The style of the show is totally different from what I have done before. In this case, I was able to portray different sides of me.”
In addition, he was asked on which cast member he had the most chemistry with. His answer was the best, though. “Sehun (from EXO),” Seung Gi said, which in turn received a significant amount of cheer among fans. He then further added by saying, “I can interact with him well. I became closer with him after working together (in “Busted”).”
The last keyword for the night was “Vagabond”. The screen then showed various behind-the-scene photos taken by his manager. MC Owen pointed out a selfie photo he had with co-star Bae Suzy and director Yoo In Shik. He was asked about his experience working with Yoo. “He was not scary at all! Instead, he speaks very nicely,” Seung Gi told the emcee. And with that, the 1st segment had come to an end.
The 2nd segment was named “Variety Talk: Entertainer Corner”. The session presented past footages of Seung Gi’s past stint in variety shows like “All The Butlers” and “Little Forest”. Die-hard fans cheered and screamed their lungs out as the clip showed various scenes that highlighted his multi-talented skills as an all-rounded entertainer. The video concluded with a clip of him receiving the “Grand Prize” (Daesang) awards at the SBS Entertainment Awards 2018.
“Looking at the video, I have done a lot during the shows,” Seung Gi admitted. He also caught the emcee’s attention for his unique dancing skills. He was then asked to show off his moves for his fans. During the same segment, he also played a set of basketball shooting game. Despite a few glitches here and there during the game, fans still managed to snag some lucky draw gifts in the form of autograph posters.
3rd Segment: “Date With Lee Seung Gi”
[#LeeSeungGiinMY] LSG: As today is the last stop so I wanted to prepare Malaysian cuisine specially for you guys! I heard Malaysian loves dessert/snacks😋
The next segment was called “Date With Lee Seung Gi”. For those who don’t know, the “1 Night 2 Days” star is also known for his love in cooking. According to the star, he had a special surprise for a fan in the venue – a local cuisine called popiah for a lucky AIREN that will be chosen via a lucky draw.
After he finished working on the yummy treat, the situation became intense when Seung Gi started to draw in the lot. A fan from Taiwan known as Peggy was picked by “The King 2 Hearts” actor to come onstage to meet him in person. Not only that, she was fed by the star himself!
For the next session, the crowd was then divided into 2 – Team A (left side of the hall) and Team B (right side). 7 lucky fans were randomly picked on the screen to represent each team. They were challenged to play a telepathy game. In this case, each rep from both teams must choose one pose from the screen. If Seung Gi’s pose matches their pose, the team wins. Those with the wrong pose will get eliminated until one team wins.
After a neck-and-neck competition between the 2 teams, it came down to only 2 reps from each team. As a result, team A eventually won. They managed to bring home cosmetics set as well as signed poster. It didn’t end there! Seung Gi then came down to the the seated crowd at the left side of Dewan Wawasan for some photo opportunities.
At the end of the segment, the emcee told everyone that the fan-meeting had come to an end. It was clear that everyone wanted more of Seung Gi. Despite the unfortunate news, he then proceeded with preparing himself for a group photo with the entire audience. The lights were dimmed as a special fan-made clip was played on the screen.
The video included footages of the pop star from his military discharge all the way up to his current work. However a lovely twist came in the form of a video asking him to turn around to face the fans. The whole arena was holding up hand banners with a warm message dedicated specially for him.
Seung Gi’s face was filled with excitement as he expressed his happy feelings towards each and everyone of his fans who came to his show that evening. “This really gives me strength to be more happy in the coming days ahead in order to be together with AIRENs. I will be working harder from now on,” Seung Gi promised his fans.
After his heartwarming speech, the arena turned dark as he prepared to perform his next song. A few moments later, Seung Gi started to sing “Return”. After that, Seung Gi shared with the crowd on his plans for his comeback in music. “There are always circumstances happening along the way. I wish I could release many more songs after this,” said the Seoul-born entertainer. He further added by expressing his wish to release a full album that contains stories that he can share with everyone.
He then proceeded with a mellowed down performance of “Delete” while sitting on a chair. Seung Gi’s flawless high-note skills managed to wow the crowd. Right before his last performance, he asked fans to dance and sing along with him. Everyone stood up from their seats and moved to the beat of his last 2 songs; “Smile Boy” and “Let’s Go On A Vacation”. And with that, the fan-meeting was over.
All in all, it was very heartwarming to see his hard work and determination to put on a good show and interact with fans. Hopefully we won’t have to wait for another 7 years for Seung Gi!
