Malaysian singer Baby Shima expressed her frustration towards celebrity entrepreneur Dato’ Aliff Syukri with his recent action of criticising her.
The issue between the two started way back when the “Roadblock Hatiku” singer left a comment on Dato’ Aliff’s post, sharing her own opinion regarding his new single “Abang Cowokku” featuring Indonesian singers Lucinta Luna as well as Upiak Usil.

According to mStar, Baby Shima (real name Nor Ashima Ramli) explained her dissatisfaction towards Dato’ Aliff’s latest single, which was trending on YouTube Malaysia. However, the 32-year-old took it the hard way when the news came out.
He then posted a screenshot of the news and allegedly mocked her for being eliminated earlier in a singing reality show. For the uninitiated, Shima competed in D’Academy Awards Asia in Indonesia in 2017. She was also infamous for the “Ada nampak mummy happy?” scene with fellow Malaysian singer Mas Idayu.
In addition to that, Dato’ Aliff also posted a 3-minute video commenting on his ongoing controversy with the up-and-coming dangdut singer. In the video, he also featured footages of Baby Shima during the competition and also the part when she was confronted by Mas Idayu.

Shima has responded to the whole situation by posting a video of herself commenting on Dato’ Aliff’s reactions online. According to the 27-year-old, “You want to sue? Go ahead, it doesn’t affect me at all. I’m not afraid. I am not guilty in this matter. I don’t understand, you were the one who asked for honest opinion about your singing. I gave my opinion, and suddenly you became mad about it.”
Her followers have left mixed reactions toward her recent post. While some praised her for doing the right thing and showed their support, others advised her to just ignore him. There are those who also feel that the feud between them is merely a marketing strategy.

SM Entertainment’s “Avengers-styled” boy group SuperM is gearing up for their official debut.
The good news was made official by SM Entertainment, home label to the members of the boy group. In their latest update on Instagram, it was revealed that SuperM’s upcoming debut album will be released worldwide on 4th October 2019.
The group has been generating buzz among K-pop fans even way before the official announcement was made. It has been reported by several news outlet that the boys will be focusing their promotions on United States as well as South Korea, targeting both Western and Asian market simultaneously.
Regarding the group name, SM Entertainment explained that the term “Super” refers to the collaborative synergy of their talented members, while the letter “M” in the group name stands for “Matrix” or “Master”. It can also be pointed out that the group name naturally represents the name for their agency, through the spellings of their initial letters.
In addition to that, the formation of this group was also notable for its inclusion of members of mega-groups including EXO, SHINee and also NCT. For those who are curious, here are the 7 members of the upcoming boy band:

Ex-boyfriend of Goo Hara (구하라), Choi Jongbum (최종범) will most likely receive probation with suspended sentence for attempt of blackmail as well as physical assault.
The former KARA member’s legal representatives responded to the court’s ruling on Thursday (29th August 2019) to give Choi an 18-month suspended sentence with 3 years of probation.

The Seoul Central District Court, led by head judge Oh Deoksik has sentenced the defendant (Choi Jungbum) to undergo probation, based on the fact that he had no intention of hurting the victim (Goo Hara), and that the sex video was not filmed against her will, nor was even shared to the public.
The court further claimed that “while Choi did not get Goo’s full consent to record their sexual act, the two were in fact involved in a romantic relationship at the time of the recording and Goo did not specifically stop Choi from recording either.”
During the assessment for this case, the court concluded, “During the breakup, Choi caused injuries to the victim as well as received injuries in his own face. He was angry about this and in turn threatened her to contact a media outlet in an attempt to end the victim’s entertainment career. By making her kneel down, he caused serious suffering to the female celebrity victim.”

Goo Hara’s legal representative expressed their shock towards the order. “The court admitted Choi Jongbum was guilty for threatening, forcing, physically assaulting, and damaging property. Yet they still sentenced him to probation anyway. That cannot be seen as an adequate ruling,” said one of the reps as a response to the court’s decision.
They additionally hinted at appealing for Choi Jungbum to receive a heavier penalty, saying, “Society needs tougher punishments in order to eradicate the kind of criminal behaviour that Choi Jongbum committed. We hope that during the appeals trial, the defendant will be appropriately sentenced according to the weight of his crime.”

The Goo Hara-Choi Bungjun case has been ongoing since last year, following the former’s claims that her ex-boyfriend attempted to threaten her as well as caused physical assault.
Joker has always been an integral part of the DC universe. Throughout the comics, the supervillain was notorious for his criminal ways. In fact, Joker has been responsible for numerous murders, notably the murder of characters like Jason Todd (the second Robin) and Jim Gordon’s second wife, Sarah Essen.
Despite that, readers have always been fascinated with him. So much so that the character was brought to life in various television series and movies. Over the years, a number of actors have taken the role of portraying this iconic character on theater screens.
Notably actors like Heath Ledger, Jacks Nicholson, Cesar Romero, and Jared Leto. However, it was only Ledger’s depiction of the character that garnered the franchise an Oscar in 2009.
The latest actor to fill the shoes is none other than Joaquin Phoenix. In line with the release of the movie trailer, here are 8 fun facts about the upcoming psychological film:
Slated for release on 4th October, the upcoming feature film will provide the details to his background before he became the Joker, we all came to know and love. Warner Bros has described the project as “a cautionary tale” and “a gritty character study” that follows a man who has been disregarded by society.
The clip first begins with Phoenix depicting the character as a struggling comedian. Despite obvious signs of severe mental health issues, he still puts on a good face. However, due to the constant bullying and harassment he faces, Arthur switched and eventually turned to a life of crime and chaos.
2. Set in 1981
The story is set to take place in 1981.
In fact, it was revealed that the script drew inspirations from classic films like “Taxi Driver” (1976), “Raging Bull” (1981), and “The King of Comedy” (1983).
Now, this explains the vintage look of New York in the teaser. It’s clear that Phillips had the intention of incorporating the same aesthetic feels from the aforementioned films for his vision of Gotham City.
3. Director Todd Phillips was instrumental in getting Phoenix onboard
Before landing on the directorial role for this project, Phillips was known for his work with the “Hangover” trilogy.
Speaking to Collider last year, Phoenix revealed that Phillips’ role as a director had a huge influence in his decision to play the iconic character. He noted;
“I think he’s very impressive and he seems to have a very interesting understanding of this world and what he’s trying to say. And so there is something very appealing about that and working with him on this particular project.”
“It feels unique, it is its own world in some ways, and maybe, mostly, it scares the fucking shit out of me or something. It might as well be the thing that scares you the most.”
Considering Phillips past works with comedy films, it would be refreshing to see his take on Joker’s origin story since he’s used to making audiences laugh.
In order to obtain Joker’s classic look, Phoenix had to shed a couple of pounds. During the shooting of this film in New York last year, Phoenix was seen notably thinner than usual. We are talking about a huge difference! Fans were shaken when they saw how Phoenix was starting to look like the iconic villain.
However, Phoenix was up for the challenge. In fact, he stated that he “could care less” about the pressures that come with the role.
5. Robert De Niro is Murray Franklin
Speaking of taking inspirations from “King of Comedy” and “Taxi Driver”, Robert De Niro is set to play Murray Franklin in this upcoming project. His character in the “Joker” is a talk show host who is instrumental in Arthur’s downfall. Not much has been revealed about this character though.
Nevertheless, De Niro has mentioned that this role will very much pay homage to his character, Rupert Pupkin in “King of Comedy”.
6. Thomas Wayne for Gotham City Mayor

Considering it’s set in 1981, Bruce Wayne’s parents have yet to meet their ultimate fate. This means fans can look forward to seeing Bret Cullet portray Thomas Wayne in “Joker”.
Following the original script for 1989 “Batman”, Thomas and Martha Wayne were murdered due to Thomas’s candidacy for Mayor. His opposition candidate, Rupert Thorne hired Joe Chill to assassinate them.
Seeing how his involvement in politics resulted in his death, fans can expect the same faith to play out on screen. However, the only mystery here is the killer’s identity.
Well, we will just have to wait and see…
In addition, Bret Cullet’s version of the billionaire will not be as friendly and warm as he is in the comics. Initially, actor Alec Baldwin was cast as Thomas Wayne but due to schedule conflicts, Baldwin dropped out of the role.
7. Young Batman makes his debut
Even though this project centralises around Joker’s origin, this motion picture will explain young Bruce Wayne’s motivation to take on the role of Gotham City’s favourite superhero.
Bearing in mind that Thomas Wayne is still around, Bruce would in turn still be a child. It was officially announced that Dante Pereira will be bringing the character to live on screen this October.
8. This version “doesn’t follow anything” from the comics
“We didn’t follow anything from the comic books, which people are gonna be mad about,” the writer-director told Empire. “We just wrote our own version of where a guy like Joker might come from. That’s what was interesting to me. We’re not even doing Joker, but the story of becoming Joker. It’s about this man.”
The Oscar-nominated actor was always the first choice for Phillips. “I think he’s the greatest actor. We had a photo of him above our computer while we were writing. We constantly thought, ‘God, imagine if Joaquin actually does this.’”
In the meantime, let’s relish the final trailer until it hits the theaters.

General ticket sales went live earlier this morning (Friday, 30th August). Reports claim that all 30,000 tickets to the 38-year-old’s Singapore concert on 21st December 2019 (Saturday) were sold out within 1.5 hours!

This comes after those with Mastercard were given priority to purchase concert tickets the day before on 29th August. Hope is not lost yet. Just hours ago, concert organiser Unusual Entertainment announced that a second show for JJ Lin’s “Sanctuary 2.0” World Tour in Singapore will be added.
The additional show for “Sanctuary 2.0” will take place the following day on 22nd December 2019 (Sunday) at National Stadium. However, no word yet on when the tickets will go on sale. As of time of writing, Unusual Entertainment has only stated that tickets “will be made available soon”.
Already, there have been complaints that scalpers are already re-selling tickets – some even at double the original price. The organiser has warned concert-goers from “buying from resellers or through any third party platform” as “all tickets sold are personalised” and the buyer’s name will be printed on the tickets.
Details for his Malaysian concert have yet to be released.
