In case y’all missed it, rumours are flying that Malaysian Airlines Bhd (MAB) is currently open for acquisition. To everyone’s surprise, rival company AirAsia Group Sdn Bhd is also among others interested in buying the ailing airline company.

As reported by Focus Malaysia, Khazanah Nasional (major shareholder) would have to spend RM8 billion if AAGB successfully acquired MAB. The total amount covers various aspects such as RM5.4 billion worth of A380 (6 in total), a number of operating costs and cancellation for their Boeing 737 Max 8 orders (25 in total), among others.

Word has it that CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes has begun to show his interest in the acquisition to Khazanah’s director Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan, labelling the project as a “merging acquisition”. However, ongoing discussion is being carried out in order to reach an agreement between both sides.

According to Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad, it was reported that they have received over five proposals to acquire MAB. This include famed international airline companies such as Japan Airlines, Air France-KLM, Malindo Airways, and AirAsia.

So far, AAGB is among the lucky ones to get the exclusive opportunity as the airline label is ready to spend a whopping price of RM1.4 billion yearly to cover MAB’s operating cost. For those who don’t know, the overall cost is RM1 billion a year.

According to AAGB, the partnership between the two giant airlines will be merged under one brand; AirAsia. Both companies will proceed with operation, this time around with the concept and direction set by the company.

It was further reported that AABG is set to appoint Brahim as the official food provider for MAB. Meanwhile, other airlines like MASwings and Firefly were among those not included in the purchase list.

Malaysian celebrities Sharifah Rose and Liyana Jasmay recently caused a major stir among local netizens.

The former found herself in hot water after an Instastory shot of herself not donning her hijab during her holiday trip in Phuket went viral online. On the other hand, the latter uploaded a photo of herself with her family members without covering her hair.

The famed social media influencer took to her Twitter in order to clear the air. She claimed that she did cover her hair with a cap, before removing it, saying that the cap got wet. Describing the incident as “the stupidest 10 minutes” of her life, she apologised to her followers for her carelessness.

The replies section has been filled with mixed reactions. In this case, the hijabi model has been slammed by social media users, while others have stepped in to defend her and advised her to take the incident as a lesson for her to not repeat the same mistake again.

The former “Baywatch” bombshell has just tied the knot for the 5th time, this time to hairdresser-turned-Hollywood mogul Jon Peters. The newlyweds exchanged vows earlier on Monday, over 30 years since they first dated.

This comes after reports of the 22-year-old engaging an affair with married man Masahiro Higashide (東出昌大) circulated recently. Both were co-stars in the romance film “Asako I & II” (寝ても覚めても)

Word has it that the 31-year-old actor-model and wifey Anne Watanabe have also been living separately ever since the scandal broke out. In response, Erika’s Korean home label, BH Entertainment, came out with a statement of apology today (23rd January) that reads:

“First of all, we are truly sorry to have worried so many people with this news about Karata Erika. She is currently reflecting on her actions. We bow our heads in apology to all the families, fans, and those concerned who have been deeply hurt by this incident. Once again, we apologise.”

Her Japanese agency has assured that they will “guide Erika in order to gain public’s trust once again.” Meanwhile, Higashide’s company also has also addressed the issue by stating, “This issue was caused by his foolishness and lack of responsibility, so regardless of whatever criticism he may face, his actions are inexcusable.”

There is no question that Lee Dong Wook (이동욱) still looks undeniably smashing at age 38.

The surprising revelation was made during the recent episode of Dong Wook’s headlining talk show, “Because I Want To Talk” (이동욱은 토크가 하고싶어서), where Professor Yoo Sung Ho from the Seoul National University, specialising in forensic medicine, made an appearance as a guest.

During the session, Dong Wook shared with the crowd that he as well as the producer of the show – who is also born in the year of the rooster (1981) – had conducted a DNA test with Professor Sung Ho. The results showed that both of their fathers bear typical Korean ancestry. However, Dong Wook discovered that his mother’s side has genes that can be traced back to people living in Siberia – much to everyone’s surprise!

“I am a Siberian?” a shocked Dong Wook remarked. Professor Sung Ho responded by saying, “No, you’re Korean. But it’s rare, only 1% of Koreans have this.” He further added that the genes can be found among the Koryaks and Khakassians troupe.

So, what was his reaction after the surprising revelation? “I think my mother’s going to be the one who’s most surprised knowing this; I’m a Siberian!” said the “Goblin” actor as he laughed out loud.

Additionally, the result of the test further revealed that his biological age is 32 years old, based on his healthy body condition. Dong Wook explained that he regularly works out for 2 to 3 hours a day. He then jokingly asked his manager to change details of his age on all portal sites’ official profile.

Oh boy, things aren’t looking good for China. Following the outbreak of the Coronavirus in Wuhan, 4 new Chinese New Year titles have been postponed.

TGV Cinemas, GSCinemas and MBO Cinemas all released statements on their respective Facebook pages informing movie-goers of the last-minute cancellation.

As pictured in the poster above, the 4 CNY movies are “Vanguard” (急先锋), “Detective Chinatown 3” (唐人街探案 3), “The Rescue” (紧急救援) as well as “Jiang Zi Ya: Legend of Deification” (姜子牙).

Due to the severity of the Wuhan’s Coronavirus, the studios in China have collectively made the call to postpone worldwide theatrical releases. Those who have purchased tickets in advanced may refer to the local distributors for refund.

It’s alarming how the Coronavirus outbreak has ended numerous lives recently. Also known as 2019-nCoV, the virus has reportedly spread to neighbouring countries such as Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and even Singapore ever since it first emerged in Wuhan, China.

Word has it that the main cause of the spread of the virus is because of a wet market, Huanan Seafood Market, which sells bizarre and exotic animals such as dogs, snakes, mice, bats, peacocks and ostriches for the locals to consume.

Situated in the heart of downtown Wuhan, the wet market has been instructed by the authorities to be temporarily closed. This comes after reports that several wild animals sold at the market contain the deadly virus.

According to an exclusive news by Daily Mail UK, the wet market also sells raw koala meat! The reports has in turn caused widespread dismay among Australians.

The shocking revelation was made by a Twitter user known as Muyi Xiao. She also uploaded pricing details for the variety of meats that can be purchased at the mart. Based on the list, the koala bear meat is sold at RMB 70 (RM41). However, it is not known whether the price is for the whole koala bear or per kilo.

“Take a look at the menu; they also consume koala meat. No animals are safe to eat in China,” a netizen commented via Weibo where the reports were initially spread. Even the price tag horrifically reads, “Freshly slaughtered and delivered directly to your house.”

Native Aussies couldn’t help but wonder where and how did the Chinese get the animals stock from. They pointed that koala bears are mostly available in the country only. In addition, most of them expressed their disappointment that these poor creatures have became the victim to satisfy these locals’ weird tastebuds.

As a result, many have been suggesting that the government come up with a law to control the excessive amount of exotic meats being sold in China. Relating to the Australian bushfire that caused almost 1 billion of wildlife creatures, the fact that the koala bears are sold to be consumed will worsen the situation instead.

Although we went in-depth with their respective characters during our exclusive interview, the subject of a potential season 2 for “The Ghost Bride” came up. Will there be a follow-up to this storyline? After all, many questions were left unanswered.

“Of course we hope that we can carry on for season 2 but that depends, because the author (Yangsze Choo) hasn’t come out with a second book,” said Angeline Tan (陈意遐), who plays the “slightly psycho” (her words, not ours) Madam Lim (林夫人).

“This season was all about Li Lan’s journey and we see her story come full circle. If there were to be a follow-up, perhaps we’d delve more into the other characters in ‘The Ghost Bride’,” Chris Wu Kang Jen (吴慷仁), who portrays the 500 years old Heaven’s Guard, Er Lang, told us.

Ludi Lin (林路迪) shares the same sentiment as costar Chris Wu Kang Jen. There are still many layers to his character Tian Bai (林天白) and the Lim family left unexplored. “I think if season 2 happens, it’ll be from our imagination and what the audience really thinks because there’s a lot of you can get from feedback. We’ll know what audiences like and what audiences don’t like. It’s a very open ending at the end,” the 32-year-old said.

The Chinese-Canadian actor continued, “I’ve actually been pitching ideas to the directors all along. There were so many things that were left unsaid. Like where is Madam Lim’s husband? Where is Tian Bai’s parents? How come the Lim family particularly is so haunted by the supernatural? How come Old Wong saw a ghost and had to die?”

In the meantime, we’ll just have to come with our own assumptions.

“The Ghost Bride” is currently available for streaming on Netflix.

The sudden emerge of a new virus called Wuhan coronavirus has rocked the world recently, with massive amount of people being affected by the unwelcoming disease. Some cases have even lead to death.

In case y’all missed it, the nation has just gotten over with the concerns surrounding the Influenza A outbreak. Wuhan coronavirus shows no obvious difference with common cold and influenza, as all are linked with the respiratory system. So how can one differentiate between these 3 diseases?

Apparently, there are a few differences you can point out between common cold, influenza and Wuhan virus, as stated in China Press. In this case, the Chinese media outlet explained that the incubation period for the new pneumonia might take up to a week in average.

However, symptoms can show up anytime in the span of 2 to 3 days or even up to 12 days in some cases. For those who are curious, check out some of the symptoms of the 3 that you should take note:

1. Common cold

The common cold usually happens when your upper respiratory tract – nose and throat – has been infected by virus. The symptoms include the usual runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, and even a mild headache.

Your snot will usually become thicker in yellowish or greenish in colour after 2 or 3 days. Fret not, as common colds are most often than not harmless. So, you will recover within 5 or 7 days.

2. Influenza (Flu)

Different from the mere cold, influenza cases are deemed as more serious as compared to common cold, as your lungs are also infected by the virus, in addition to your nose and throat.

Some of the severe signs that show you are suffering from influenza include high fever with temperature up to 40°C, fatigue, nausea, dried eyes, serious headaches and even diarrhoea. If not treated quickly, influenza might lead to pneumonia and can be deadly at some point. Be sure to get vaccinated, y’all.

3. Wuhan coronavirus 

Also referred to as 2019-nCoV, it is believed that the Huanan Seafood Market, a wet market selling exotic butcheries located in Wuhan, China was the starting point for the virus outbreak. Since then, the virus has been spreading across neighbouring countries around the globe.

As aforementioned, the symptoms are quite similar with the above 2. However, the difference is that if you’ve been facing problems with your respiratory system, such as breathing difficulties, you might be infected by the virus. Other signs include dry cough and fever. Though, the latter may not be a significant symptom in some cases.

Preventions: 

Here are some precautionary steps you can take to avoid the spread of the virus:

1. Wash your hands regularly with water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
2. Use a alcohol-based hand sanitiser that is available at local pharmacies for price as low as RM6!
3. Always cover your nose and mouth whenever you sneeze or cough.
4. If you used a tissue to cover your mouth, make sure to throw it to the dustbin straight away.
5. Keep a distance at least 6ft away from anyone who is down with cold.
6. Always make sure your food is cooked thoroughly.
7. Prevent any outdoor activities
8. Wear a mask to avoid spread of germs. Surgical masks (available in clinics or pharmacies) work wonders in this situation. Make sure to put the white part of the mask at the front.

The government has decided to temporarily suspend all immigration facilities from China – especially those from Wuhan as well as the Hubei Province.

The announcement was made via an official press statement that was uploaded by our Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad on his Twitter account. Feel free to read it here:

Looks like Karata Erika (唐田えりか) has gone missing ever since the internet blew up with the recent story about her scandal with fellow Japanese actor Masahiro Higashide (東出昌大).

Several media outlets have noted that her official portal is no longer accessible, in addition to the fact that she had deactivated her social media accounts, causing everyone to come up with various speculations.
