The Minister of Youth & Sports, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was recently caught in yet another controversy.

For those who don’t know, the internet community went nuts over a viral photo of the 26-year-old dancing in a club with his friends. The tweet was posted by an account using the Tweethandle @NaratifRakyat.

In the caption, the admin made fun of Syed Saddiq by writing, “Did your muscle tissue tear with all the vigorous dancing?” – referring to his past injuries following an alleged altercation case with one of the Youth members of the opposition party, as reported by Channel News Asia.

As a response, Syed Saddiq took to Twitter to clarify the whole situation. He came up with a statement that reads:

“#OkBoomer, everybody has a history, including myself. I cannot change my past, but I can change my future. I owned up to it. I admitted it and I don’t want to lie. This was in 2013. It’s an outdated issue. Let’s talk about issues of policy and the nation. The focus should be on the people.”

For those who are curious on the phrase #OkBoomer, the term refers to a popular slang online that is used as a dismissive term for the traditional-minded new generations – also known as baby boomers – that often look down at millennials’ struggles and opinions.

Despite the issue, local netizens have came forward to defend the young politician, with some of them slamming the admin for bringing up Syed Saddiq’s past prior to his current position as a public figure.

Not only that, some Twitter users also came up with words of encouragement for Syed Saddiq by advising him to just focus on his present responsibilities and ignore the haters. Check out some of their replies here:

Physical appearance is essential, especially when you’re in the public eye. Just like Jay Chou (周杰倫), Kris Wu (吴亦凡) has been facing weight issues over the past few months.

During a recent interview, the former EXO member finally opened up about the criticism he has been getting after putting on some weight.

3 months since he was compared to Hong Kong actor Bobby Yip’s (八両金) son following his weight gain, the 29-year-old rapper has been relying on a disciplined diet to slim down. Kris also shed some light on what has been the cause.

“There was a period when my weight gain was hotly discussed. I am very well aware of its cause. It’s because I was staying long periods in the recording studio, and as you know what can happen in a studio. We would just eat what’s often referred to as junk food for the sake of convenience,” he explained.

It didn’t help that his encourage and close friends didn’t notice that he had gotten fatter. The Canadian-Chinese recalled one instance when pop star Will Pan (潘玮柏) was in the studio and proceeded to ask if he looked more plump. Will replied, “No, I think you’re quite skinny.”

This is probably due to the fact that people in our everyday lives wouldn’t notice the little changes. But after it became a hot topic on social media, Kris made it a point to eat healthier and exercise regularly.

Hannah Quinlivan (昆凌) recently took a trip down memory lane when she appeared on Warriors basketball star Stephen Curry’s program, “Crossing NBA” (漫游NBA).

Both stars talked about their relationship to their significant other. All eyes were on Hannah when she talked about how she and Jay Chou (周杰倫) first started dating.

The actress shared that she was only 17 years old when she auditioned for a role in the Mandopop King’s music video. It is believed that Jay took a liking to her and cast her as a female lead. Jayne Star also suggested that this made it easier for him to pursue her.

Word on the street is that the music video was for the singer’s 11th studio album “Wow!” (驚嘆號), which debuted in November 2011. There’s speculation that courtship began in July 2010. Pictures of the pair on a date had already surfaced a few months before “Wow!” came out.

In order to shield Hannah from media scrutiny, Jay apparently deleted all her scenes from the music video. Their romance made headlines worldwide when they went on a holiday in Australia in 2011. Hannah even threatened to break up but the singer booked a flight to the United States in order to win her back.

For those who don’t know, the dress was designed by Carvin Ong. According to the 51-year-old, he spent estimably 3 months in working on the 27kg dress. The custom-made outfit will be worn by Shweta (full name Shwetajeet Kaur) for the upcoming Miss Universe 2019 that will be held at Atlanta, Georgia next month.

There’s a new K-pop couple in town y’all, and they are 2nd generation idols 2AM’s Jinwoon (정진운) and 9MUSES’ Kyungri (경리).

Earlier today (Wednesday, 13th November), reports started to surface claiming that the two have been seeing each other since the past 2 years.

The good news was announced by the “Marriage Not Dating” actor’s home label, Mystic Story. Feel free to read their official statement here:

“Hello, this is Mystic Story. Here is our statement regarding Jung Jinwoon’s dating news that was reported today:

Jung Jinwoon and Kyungri became close acquaintances after working in several programs together, and they are seeing each other with positive feelings since late 2017. We hope you will look upon them warmly. Please support them, as Jung Jinwoon will diligently serve in the military while Kyungri will continue to appear on broadcasts.”

Initially, news portal SBS funE reported that both Jinwoon, 28 and Kyungri, 29 have been dating since 2017, where it all started as mere industry colleagues. The source further claimed that Jinwoon, and Kyungri have been seeing each other for the past few years.

One reporter commented, “The couple go on dates without putting much stress on their surroundings when he comes out from the military for vacation.” They further added that “both of them seem to be serious about the relationship.”

In case if you’ve missed it, the new lovebirds released a special Christmas track called “White Christmas” back in December 2017. It was believed that the romance between them started to heat up after the collaboration project. In addition, both Jinwoon and also Kyungri appeared on Comedy TV’s “New Guys”.

The release date of the series was announced earlier this week. Through, the series’ official Twitter account that announced the return date on 26th December 2019 also brought along a new poster for the series with the words “Meet Your Match” on it.

Sounds ominous? It should.

2. New Cast

Along with the new season, the series also brings along some new cast. This is to reflect the new setting and characters found in the second season. The new cast include Victoria Pedretti, James Scully, Jenna Ortega and many more. The only characters returning so far is Penn Badgley’s character, Joe Goldberg, who is the protagonist of the series. And also Guinevere Beck, played by Elizabeth Lail.

3. Set In Los Angeles

As mentioned before, the series will be headed to a new location and that location is Los Angeles. According to the “You” book sequel, “Hidden Bodies”, Goldberg who came to Los Angeles, fell in love with the city immediately after arriving. It is the place where he finds his next target, an inspiring chef named Love Quinn.

4. Exploring Goldberg’s Past

Last season, we learned how Mr Mooney, who was Goldberg’s guardian and boss at the bookstore, was the source of the Badgley’s character madness. But this second season will have fans exploring more about the former bookstore manager abusive childhood and the relationship he had with Mooney.

5. How Many Episodes 

The series will have 10 episodes in total, with the first episode titled “A Fresh Start”. And the 10th and last episode of the series titled “Love, Actually” is directed by Silver Tree and written by Sera Gamble & Neil Reynolds.

The highly anticipated release of Disney+ is finally here. And with it, their treasure trove of original series and movies from all their studios including Marvel. This means that the service now has all the previous MCU movies available.

But the thing that caught our eyes are the deleted scenes that were included with the movies. This means that we finally get to see the infamous Iron Man’s Soulworld scene in “Avengers: Endgame”.

The scene which featured the Tony Stark’s daughter, Morgan Stark, was supposed to be the ultimate send off to the character after the billionaire’s death at the end of the film. “The idea was for her to give him the permission to go,” explained director Joe and Anthony Russo. But it did not work.

The scene sees Tony back in his civilian clothes meeting his grown-up daughter in the red-orange world. He didn’t recognised her at first, but she told him he knows her well. The two then have a conversation about his snap, her future and whether it was the right choice for the father to sacrifice himself.

Morgan then addresses the concerns her father had and tell him that it’s okay for him to go. The scene then ends with the daughter telling her father I love you, to which he replied with the iconic “I love you 3000” line.

Look, the effect is one thing but the dialog was delivered in a very awkward manner that made the entire atmosphere feel uncomfortable. Even the iconic “I love you 3000” line that had so much impact before, loses it’s flair. The scene also drags the entire situation longer than it should have.

The biggest problem we had with the scene was the introduction of older Morgan. This causes a major disconnect with the audience who already have a connection with the youngling earlier in the film. This is also the reason that led to the filmmakers to ultimately cut out the scene.

Good news public commuters! The link bridge connecting Abdullah Hukum to The Gardens Malls has officially open today (Thursday, 14th November).

Delay after delay (it was supposed to open last year before postponing to October 2019), the public can now breathe a sigh of relief. Better late than never right?

The delay is likely due to the green light for the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC). Now that the link bridge is open, you can now say no more long waits for busses. There’s also no need to waste time taking the KTM to KL Sentral in order to switch trains again.

In case you’re wondering, the link bridge entrance at The Gardens Malls is located just next to Japanese restaurant Ichiriki (which is on the first floor at Lot F237b). It’s also a stone’s throw away from the L’Occitane outlet at The Gardens Malls.

However, do note that the access walkway will be closed from 1am to 6am.

Kwon Hyuk Jun (권혁준) – who was involved in the controversial chatroom with Jung Joon Young and other well-known celebrities – will be sentenced to 10 years in prison, as requested by the Korean prosecution team.

It was previously reported that one member of the chatroom is the “older brother of a famous girl group member”. For those who don’t know, Kwon is the elder brother of Girls’ Generation member Kwon Yuri (유리). He is also known for his appearance in “I Can See Your Voice” (너의 목소리가 보여) back in 2016.

According to Koreaboo, Kwon has admitted that he is guilty. He also expressed his hopes that the recurring incident will not bring harm to his family. “Everything is my fault, my mistake, I can feel the weight of my crimes every day. I did not intend to cause harm by using force or violence,” said Kwon.

He further added that he will continue to “live my life with the fact that my fiancee, my family, my sister who is a public figure, have to split the blame for my crimes and that I have inflicted permanent damage that I can’t wash away.”

Besides Kwon, the full details of the prosecution’s requests for other celebrities and public figure involved in the scandal – namely Jung Joon Young, Choi Jong Hoon, Burning Sun MD “Kim” and former entertainment agency employee “Heo” have finally been revealed yesterday (Wednesday, 13th November).

For those who are curious, the prosecution has requested for these men to undergo these period of sentence:

• Jung Joon Young – 7 years in prison
• Choi Jong Hoon and Heo – 5 years in prison
• Kim and Kwon Hyuk Jun – 10 years in prison

At the time of writing (Thursday, 14th November), the requests for the 5 culprits’ sentences have been sent to the jury. The final decision is set to be announced on 29th November (Friday).

If there’s one thing that fans will never get tired of Kris Wu (吴亦凡), it’s his love life.

Following his connection to Luna aka Qinniu Zhengwei (秦牛正威) and Han Qiyuan (韓其原), people are now wondering if he’s moved on to Mitsuki Kimura (木村 光希).

Despite her young age (she’s only 16), Mitsuki Kimura – who is more commonly known as Koki – is already an establish star in her own right. Oh, and she also happens to be the youngest daughter of J-pop legend Kimura Takuya (from the hugely popular 90s boy group SMAP).

The rumour first caught fire when the former EXO member announced that he will debuting the anticipated new single entitled “Eternal Love” (貳叁). The 29-year-old superstar explained that he wanted his leading lady to be “familiar, but also unfamiliar, fresh” and has a different face in the entertainment industry.

“Everyone might have seen her on the big screen or whatever, but they might not have seen her perform like she did in the MV. She has a very special aura and unique quality that made her very suitable for this micro film. So that’s why we collaborated together,” the Canadian-Chinese was quoted as saying.

Even though the mini-film is 16-minute long, Kris explained that they had less than 3 days to finish filming everything. He revealed that the scene where he and Kiko were embracing each other in the snow while on a roof was actually the first scene they shot together.

For Kiko, the most challenging aspect of filming “Eternal Love” was learning how to play a blind person. Since the Japanese model doesn’t have much performance experiences, Kris was impressed at her ability to get into character quickly. This in turn, helped to speed up the process of filming.

So the pair have showed they have chemistry on-screen, but that doesn’t mean they have developed feelings for one another off-screen. Several sources have insisted that the duo are just colleagues. We wonder how does Luna feel about seeing Kris and Kiko’s scenes together?

A press conference was recently held to announce the list of cast members on board for the upcoming Tun Mahathir biopic called “Mahathir, The Journey”.

Unfortunately, our Prime Minister’s eldest daughter, Marina Mahathir is not really pleased upon receiving the news. Take a look at her tweets below:

On Tuesday (12th November), the social activist took to her Twitter to give her two cents on the upcoming movie. According to Marina, she was not aware of the film’s existence prior to this. “No endorsement from any of us for this!” the 62-year-old wrote on her account.

In addition, she further tweeted that her family members would rather have “nobody made any movies, biopics, musicals, cartoons, whatever about us. Because it’s just embarrassing. But if you have to, please don’t make us watch them.” 

Explain to who? No they won’t be accurate. So if anyone thinks they’re getting some new insights, they’re not. It’s just weird. So many other worthy subjects for films.

Marina also expressed that “it’s completely cringe-making” to think that a movie is being made about her family. The 62-year-old public figure also said that “it’s also very intrusive”.

According to The Star, “Mahathir, The Journey” is estimated to have a RM6mil. It is believed that the film, which will highlight several important political events in Malaysia, will debut in July 2020, somewhere closer to Dr Mahathir’s 95th birthday.

As a response, the producer for the movie, Yusof Kelana commented that the project will still continue despite the disapproval from any parties or characters involved.

According to Yusof, he has obtained the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)’s permission to carry on with the release and he will come up with an official letter to all the figures involved in the movie in the near future.

“We started the project for about 7 months ago. The scripts of the movie have also went through reshuffling for 12 times before we finally got the green light from PMO,” Yusuf said to mStar.

“The film is solely about Tun Mahathir and his struggles, not about Marina,” Yusuf clarified, before adding, “We have tried to reach Marina’s assistant after the launching. Even Ning Baizura (actress for Marina’s role) tried to contact her. Since the movie is based on a true story, all the characters, storyline, scripts and locations will remain the same and will never change.” 

Aside from Ning, other cast members include Azhar Amir (Tun Mahathir), Fauziah Latiff (Tun Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali), Hilal Azman (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim), Dian P Ramlee (Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail), Lisdawati (Nurul Izzah Anwar), Dazrin Kamarudin (Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman) and Afieq Hussain (Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir).

Directed by Prof. Mohamad Hatta Azad Khan, “Mahathir: The Journey” is set to begin filming on this coming December.

Disney+ has been providing a ton of juicy inside scoop on some of our favourite films and actors. One of them happens to be Chris Pratt.

It’s been revealed that the 40-year-old hunk originally auditioned for Captain America. Although he was asked to consider the role of Star Lord, Pratt wasn’t keen. Here’s the interesting part, James Gunn didn’t even want to see the actor initially.

According to Marvel Casting Director Sarah Finn, Pratt actually originally auditioned to play Captain America before Chris Evans took the part. Speaking about the audition she said, “It was something so interesting. It wasn’t quite a fit, but there’s something so endearing. He had so much heart.”

Obviously impress by the “Jurassic World” actor. She tracked the actor’s progress, before introducing him to another role in a film directed by Gunn. She added, “I finally got him to audition and James Gunn said he didn’t want to see him and that really was a challenge. I was really happy when I finally got them together and it was honestly one of those eureka moments that we talk about in casting when it absolutely feels right and you know it’s right. James turned to me within ten seconds and said ‘He’s the guy’.”

And the rest is history.

Chris Pratt has made quite a name for himself when he started playing the space-explorer, Starlord, in Marvel “Guardians Of The Galaxy”. So it’s hard to picture him in playing anything else in the Marvel’s cinematic universe.

Now, a news for the future.

The concept art for the TV series “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier” was release earlier this week. And in those artworks contain a not so heroic looking Captain America. That is because the new Captain America lookalike is not actually the Captain himself but a US agent, portrayed by Wyatt Russell, hand pick by the government themselves to take up the mantle.

In the comics, the character’s name is John Walker who originally was a villain called Super-Patriot. In the end, the pressure of being a symbol proved to be too great as it started to chip away at his sanity with him becoming increasingly violent. Thus, resulting in the original Captain America, Steve Rogers, coming in to take down the impostor himself.

All of this suggests that the Disney+ series will take a more political route in their story telling. Reminding us a little bit like “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, which was a bit hit with the fans.

Rian Johnson has a gentle warning: Do not watch the trailer “Knives Out” if you want to go into the film on a clean slate.

Following the blockbuster of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”, the director returns with a whodunnit. After debuting at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival in September and screening for critics, “Knives Out” has scored 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The synopsis for “Knives Out” reads:

“When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death.”

Although Johnson feels that the footage doesn’t spoil anything, viewers who are already sold should avoid the trailer. However, it’s the studio’s marketing campaign’s job to convince potential movie-goers to watch the movie. Those who remain unconvinced may check it out below:

As a result to the several unanswered questions, BLINKs all over the world have expressed their frustration towards YG Entertainment by coming up with the hashtag #BLACKPINKLEAVEYG to show their protest against YG, campaigning for the girls to just leave the company for good.

Apparently, the agency had announced that their comeback will be postponed until next year. To top it off, YG has just announced that their fellow recording artiste, 1st generation boy band Sechs Kies will be making their return. This has caused a major commotion among fans of BLACKPINK who demanded for their comeback in the K-pop scene.

Not only that, the controversial tweet posted by YG to address the news about the girls making it in TIME magazine’s “100 next” list has also caused a major uproar among BLINKs. In their initial tweet, fans have pointed out on how YG selfishly used “WE” as their caption without even bothering to mention the group’s name in their tweet.

After massive backlash from fans, they then removed the tweet and re-posted the same exact tweet by making minor changes to the post. Feel free to compare both of the tweets below:

The news it out. Disney live adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” has found their Prince Eric, and his name is Jonah Hauer-King.

Who? Yes, we know. He’s not a very well known name among the big time celebrities. But the London native is no spring chicken himself, as he has been in the industry for years. So with him nabbing the role of Prince Eric, it’s only a matter of time before he goes big.

But before he reach that critical big time status. Why don’t we take this opportunity to get to know more about our mysterious Prince Eric.

1. Dual Citizenship 

The 24-year-old was born in London on 30th May 1995, where he was raise with two older sisters. The parents of the star is Jeremy King, a British restauranteur, and his American mother Debra Hauer, who is a theater producer. Thus allowing him to hold both UK and US citizenships; the actor feels attach to both.

“Being American is definitely part of my identity,” he told Snow Patrol last year. “I feel in some ways very English, but I’ve also spent a lot of time in America and feel like that’s part of myself.”

2. Studied In Cambridge University 

Sometimes actors and actresses have the stick of not being too bright. Well none of that here, as the future Prince Eric once studied at Cambridge University. This was before he started focusing on his acting career of course. He then graduated in 2017 with a first class degree in Theology and Religious Studies.

3. First Film Role Was “The Last Photograph”

Every journey starts with a single step. And “The Little Women” star started his first step into the film industry in 2017’s “The Last Photograph”. There, he was joined by actor and director Danny Huston along with actress Stacy Martin, Michelle Ryan and Sarita Choudhury. In the movie, he played Luke Hammond the son of Huston’s character Tom Hammond, who died in the Pam Am Flight 103 bombing of 1988.

4. He Can Sing

Of course, nabbing the iconic role of Prince Eric requires some vocal range. Especially when he needs to stand beside Halle Bailey who is part of the music group Chloe x Halle. But rest assured, he has that part of his performance well covered. Since he already has two soundtrack credits to his name on the series, “Little Women” and “Postcard From London”.

Batman has always been a popular character and the amount of movies based on The Dark Knight reflects that. That being said, with the reveal of Robert Pattinson taking up the mantle of the Gotham citizen, it’ll be interesting to see what his former co-star, Kristen Stewart, thinks about the casting.

We finally have that answer. The the former “Twilight” star was recently asked about who her favourite Batman was, in the video she did for Fandango.

The video that promoted the “Still Alice” star latest film, “Charlie’s Angels”, was release earlier this week. In it, she is joined by her fellow co-star Ella Balinska and Naomi Scott, where they were asked to interview each other.

Eventually, leading to the question everyone was waiting for, “The Angels have a ton of fun Batman banter in the film. We’re putting you on the spot: Who do you believe is the best Batman?”

Which lead to the “American Ultra” star response. “Robert Pattinson, yet to discover,” she said at the time, with Balinska and Scott concurring. “I have all the confidence in that,” she added.

Later Stewart’s co-star, Scoot, then throws her own opinion into the mix, including Zoë Kravitz into her answer. “I totally concur. Him and Zoë Kravitz, who essentially was destined to assume that job,” the “Aladdin” actress said. This prompted more agreement from the 29-year-old.

The actress followed by saying, “Actually, she as of now is Catwoman, I can’t wait to see that. I’ve known those folks for quite a while, clearly. In any case, other than that, for me, Michael Keaton is unquestionably the one.”  Adding to that she said, “I can hardly wait to hear Rob resemble, ‘I’m Batman,’ ”

Pattinson and Stewart have previously dated in the past. But they have since split up in 2013, with the two of them remaining as friends. Currently, British Actor is dating supermodel Suki Waterhouse, while the Californian is dating screenwriter Dylan Meyer.
