The 2019 Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH) was held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). The award show was hosted by the dynamic duo of Dato’ AC Mizal and Elly Mazlein.
For those uninitiated, ABPBH is a yearly award ceremony that gives the power to the people to vote for their favourite acts online. One of the prominent highlights was the crowning of actress Mira Filzah who won the biggest award for that night – “The Most Popular Artiste” award.
Apart from that, South Korean sensational boy band BTS marked another history for being the 1st K-pop act to win “Most Popular Korean Artiste” trophy that night – beating tough competitors like EXO, Blackpink, GOT7 and G-Dragon.

Now that “Arthdal Chronicles” (아스달 연대기) has just aired its last and final episode on tvN and Netflix, fans are already looking forward for more.
As you may know the K-drama was divided into 3 parts (6 episodes each) – “Part 1: Children of Prophecy”, “Part 2: Turning Sky, Rising Ground”, and “Part 3: Arth, The Prelude to All Legends”. Now what?
Many viewers felt that the finale of “Part 3: Arth, The Prelude to All Legends” had an open-ending conclusion that never really tied the plots together. This suggests that there is still quite a bit of story left in “Arthdal Chronicles”.
After the 18th and final episode, the message “the legend of Arth will continue again” was plastered on the screen. Fans complained that they were waiting for a bigger confrontation that never took place. Instead, a 2-minute animated short video was released – showing an epic battle scene between the main characters.
So either this is a preview for season 2 or them telling us sorry we didn’t have time to finish the story so here is an animated video to help you imagine the ending better lol #ArthdalChroniclespic.twitter.com/tsffcdBzOa
Whether a season 2 is guaranteed or not is still up for debate. But an insider has released a statement saying, “From its inception, ‘Arthdal Chronicles’ was planned out as a drama with many seasons. The staff would definitely like to move forward with a 2nd season. The end credits clip in episode 18 reflected that desire.”
“However, a second season is not possible just with the desire of the staff, there must also be support from viewers. We will look over various factors and make a final decision soon. We will do our best so that we can move ahead with a second season,” the source added.
In conjunction with the season finale, the main cast of Song Joong Ki, Jang Dong Gun, Kim Ji Won, and Kim Ok Bin took some time to reflect on their roles and thank viewers for their support throughout the duration of the show.
Jang Dong Gun on playing Ta Gon: “The character Ta Gon was very different from the roles I’ve taken so far, so there were many difficulties, but I did my best to work hard. It’s hard to believe that ‘Arthdal Chronicles’ is over. It was an honour to participate in a great work with good people, and I had a great time.”
Song Joong Ki on portraying both Saya and Eun Seom: “Although there were some difficulties in playing a double role for the first time, it was fun. I was greedier than ever because the vast and deep story was so fascinating.”
Kim Ji Won, who played Tanya, said: “It feels surreal (that the drama has come to an end) when I remember the many hours that we spent filming with ups and downs for more than eight months. It was a great honour to work with great actors, writers, and director. Just as characters change as they learn over time, ‘Arthdal Chronicles’ was a drama that gave me new experiences and lessons. I want to thank the viewers for waiting so long and for being with us.”
Kim Ok Bin reflected on her experience on set, sharing, “I was very attached to all of the staff, including the director, writers, and actors. We worked hard together, so it feels both sad and bittersweet that I won’t be able to see them anymore. I really want to say thank you to the viewers for their support and love over a long period of time.”

Word has it that BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) could be one of the contenders for Best New Artiste at the annual Grammy Awards next year.
Billboard recently mentioned in their write-up that the “As If It’s Your Last” singers will most likely be competing with other international acts including Lizzo, Billie Ellish and also Lil Nas X to name a few.
In their article entitled “Grammy Preview: Will Pop Make A Comeback In The Big 4 Categories?”, the famed music critics site have come out with their opinions on what’s most likely to expect for the award ceremony.
During their take on the coveted “Best New Artiste” category, Billboard commented about the girl group’s “unprecedented commercial inroads as a K-pop girl group in America.” The 4-member band – Jennie, Jisoo, Rose and Lisa – have made various appearances during their promotional cycle in the US, including performing at Coachella, international world tours and even appearing in “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”.
BLINKs (BLACKPINK fans) all over the world are celebrating the “news” by tweeting about how the quartet has set a new wave of revolution for other K-Pop acts out there. Sadly, some also took it to the extreme way by throwing unnecessary shade to other groups such as BTS.

If this were to come true, then it will be the perfect opportunity for not only BLACKPINK, but also for other K-Pop acts to expand their career in Hollywood. Just like BTS, who paved the way for Korean pop groups to promote their music in the US, our favourite girls have also been been making their mark internationally.
For those who might not know, the 7-member boy band was nominated for “Best Recording Package” in this year’s ceremony for their “Love Yourself: TEAR” album – becoming the 1st act from South Korea to receive such honour.
“Joker” hasn’t even hit theatres yet, but there is already buzz about a potential sequel.
During a recent interview, Todd Phillips revealed that both he and Joaquin Phoenix have already discussed ideas for a potential follow-up while they were shooting the DC film.
“Well, I don’t think we’re gonna make a second one. That’s just not in our plans. But for fun, have me and Joaquin bounced around ideas? We were doing it when we were shooting, because that’s what you do sometimes,” the director was quoted as saying.
Never say never right? Phoenix previously turned down the opportunity of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Strange because he didn’t want to be tied up in a multi-picture contract. Even getting the 44-year-old actor onboard for this project took a whole lot of convincing.
On whether they would collaborate again in the future, Phillips commented, “I would do anything with Joaquin, any day of the week. There’s nobody like him. If he was willing to do it, and if people show up to this movie, and Warners came to us and said, ‘You know what? If you guys could think of something…’ Well, I have a feeling that he and I could think of something pretty cool.”
He later clarified his quote during a Los Angeles screening, saying, “The quote was, ‘I will do anything Joaquin wants to do’. And I would. But the movie’s not set up to (have) a sequel. We always pitched it as one movie, and that’s it.”
The haze situation in Malaysia seems to be going from bad to worse lately.
In our previous post, we have discussed about the ongoing issue involving the current condition in our country, which grows to be more concerning as each day passes.
The government, among other citizens nationwide have come out with methods on how to handle the ongoing haze – including the usual tips on wearing mask, drink a lot of water etc.
Apart from that, there are also a few locals out there who suggested extreme measures in order to “chase” the haze go away. Take a look at these 4 weird and funny suggestions that we can’t help but shake our heads:
1. Using a pan & ice to “melt” the air particles
The ritual was popularised by Datuk Ibrahim Mat Zain – known among locals as “Raja Bomoh”. His way of uttering the word “jelebu” instead of the word “jerebu” (Malay word for haze) has also became a meme among netizens. The ritual is done by putting a block of ice onto a pan so that the air particles that contain the haze can melt.
2. Using a vase to Suck in the haze
Also made famous by the “Raja Bomoh” himself. In this case, he claimed that his ‘special’ vase has the ability to suck all haze so that Malaysians will be able to breathe a cleaner air.
Known among local Twitter users as a resident prankster, Faizal Rosly (username @ijaicool) recently shared with his followers one of his brilliant method to blow the haze out from Malaysia. By using what? – A toy fan!
Another hilarious method that we’ve came across online is a weird ritual that involves dancing. Some netizens have even asked if the “dancers” were possessed during filming.

Following David Tao and Shin’s concert cancellation in Penang over the weekend, Galaxy Group has announced that Wakin Chau (周华健)’s concert will also be cancelled.
The issue of this sudden cancellation is apparently due to some embezzlement within concert organiser WGM Entertainment. As you may know, Wakin was scheduled to perform in Penang on 23rd November.
During an interview with China Daily, Wakin’s agent shared that they’ve been on good terms with Galaxy Group for the past 10 years. Although the Taiwanese singer and team have contacted Galaxy Group, a solution has yet to announced.
Dream Factory Entertainment, who manages David Tao and Shin, explained that the duo couldn’t perform on Saturday because they weren’t paid. “Just when the singers were preparing to leave the hotel for the concert venue, the organiser suddenly announced the concert had been cancelled,” Dream Factory Entertainment director Elyn Tan said.
According to The Star, a lawyer who was entrusted with the funds had allegedly gone missing after he was paid RM6.8 million for the concert. Word on the street has it that the lawyer has since fled to China.
“To compensate fans who bought the tickets and supported David Tao and Shin all this while, the artists have decided to hold a free concert to repay them. The relevant details will be announced soon,” said Dream Factory Entertainment.
In the meantime, those who have purchased Wakin Chau’s concert tickets can make their respective refunds once the organiser announces the refund method.
Universal Music Group is pushing the hip-hop music beyond the boundaries with the launch of Def Jam Southeast Asia.
In addition, Universal also spilled the good news of a number of rappers that are set to be a part of the journey – including our very own Joe Flizzow, DABOYWAY and Young Bong from Thailand, former Sleeq member Alif, Fariz Jabba and Yung Raja from Singapore, Alif as well as Indonesia’s A. And best of all, my fellow label artistes are all my old friends.”
The party continued to pump up with the all the performers coming together for a freestyle rapping session in front of selected audience consisted of urban cultural hall of famers as well as industry insiders. The event then continued with the performance of “Gangshit” by DABOYWAY.
For those uninitiated, Def Jam started as an underground label that focuses primarily on hip-hop genre inspired by the lifestyle sported at the streets of New York. For the past 35 years, Def Jam finally has found a spot in the music industry, with big names joining in the label – including LL Cool J, Ludacris, The Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West and also Logic.
Social media has been raving about “Frozen 2” ever since the 2nd official trailer dropped last night.
The long-awaited sequel finds Anna and Elsa journey together beyond the borders of Arendelle in an attempt to save their home from another meteorological fiasco. As they encounter new dangers, our leading ladies also come in contact with some new characters.
Check out the character descriptions below:
1. King Agnarr: The son of King Runeard, King Agnarr is married to Queen Iduna, and is Anna and Elsa’s father. King Agnarr loves his family, and would do anything to ensure his daughters’ wellbeing and safety. Alfred Molina lends his voice to King Agnarr.
2. Yelana: The unspoken leader of the nomadic Northuldra. She is fiercely protective of her family and community but is known to soften when people show an understanding of nature and their environment. Martha Plimpton was called on to bring Yelana to life.
3. Honeymaren: A member of the Northuldra, Honeymaren is a true free spirit and wants nothing more than to bring peace to the enchanted forest. She is bold and brave, with a reverence for the magic of nature. Rachel Matthews provides the voice of Honeymaren.
4. Ryder: Eager and fun, Honeymaren’s brother Ryder embraces life with optimism. Ryder’s love of reindeer might just rival Kristoff’s – but unlike Kristoff, Ryder has never roamed the great plains outside of the Enchanted Forest. He longs to embrace the world and venture beyond the magical mist. Jason Ritter lends his voice to Ryder.
5. Bruni, the little lizard: Curious and cute, this salamander inhabits the Enchanted Forest. Though shy at first, Bruni can’t help but be drawn to Elsa’s icy magic and enjoys the cool snowflake treats she creates.
Disney fans aren’t just excited to see these favourites kick butt. They are also collectively freaking out over the cute little lizard whom Elsa has taken a liking to. This much we know – everyone has already fallen for Bruni, as evidently below:

LEGGOs, are you excited to see Hani (하니)’s debut in acting?
Initially, industry insiders stated that the EXID member will be appearing in a web drama series. However, word on the street has it that she’s set to appear in director Lee Hwan’s – famous for the indie movie “Park Hwayoung” (박화영) – upcoming film instead and is currently in the process of “filming” the movie.
In addition, reports further claimed that she will be using her real name – Ahn Heeyeon (안희연) – as of today (24th September), after 8 years of promoting under her stage name Hani.
They later added that the 27-year-old has been selected as one of the major roles for a movie entitled “Adults Don’t Know” (어른들은 몰라요). “The movie is about two friends, featuring two female leads. Hani is one of the two main roles. From what we understand, they’re aiming to release the movie at the end of this year or early next year,” said an insider.
The “Up & Down” singer herself is yet to give any official statement to address the news. Keep in mind that since leaving her former agency Banana Culture last May, she hasn’t signed with any labels and entertainment agency.
Emma Maembong recently posted a harmless picture of herself with a pizza. Who knew that even that could turn controversial…
The 27-year-old actress (real name Fatimah Rohani Ismail) unintentionally caused a stir among Instagram users when the aforementioned post with the caption “yummy” became a heated debate.
A number of netizens called her out for “lying” about the photo’s location tagged, which read Villa Karangsari Sungai Buloh when in actual fact it was in the nightlife hub of TREC KL on Jalan Tun Razak.
Her devoted fans, who call themselves Emanizers, were quick to defend her claiming she would never visit such a place. However, Emma later admitted that she did pay a visit to a nightclub – but it was only to eat pizza.
“Yes, I did go there (TREC) but shared the location of where I’m at now (Sungai Buloh), yes I went there, the pizza is delicious, why?” the celebrity asked. While some agreed that the pizza there is “yummy”, others posted sarcastic remarks in the comments.
Things started to turn ugly when a few troublemakers brought up the fact that she wasn’t wearing a tudung and accused her of being a liar. At first, Emma turned off the comments on the post but she subsequently deleted the picture from her account.

Don’t come for Aishah, cause she’s not going to lay quietly while being verbally abused.
The 54-year-old singer, whose full name is Wan Aishah binti Wan Ariffin, saw herself at the receiving end of derogatory slurs earlier today (Tuesday, 24th September).
This came after she reposted Instagram stories from fans who complemented her performance at the recent Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 32 (ABPBH32). As a result, the veteran performer got called an “old Sakai who uses Instagram”.
According to Google, Sakai is word from Bahasa Baku often used in Sabah and Sumatra. There are also those who use it as a slur to call downgrade another individual. Unfortunately for the Instagram user, Aishah didn’t take too kindly of soneone making fun of her age.
“Just by sharing comments from fans I get called ‘an old Sakai using Instagram.’ Don’t you have anything else to do?” the “Janji Manis Mu” singer asked, before issuing a challenge. “If you dare, come say this to my face. Unfortunately, you’re the one with an ugly heart.”
The Malaysian songstress also commented that Internet trolls like that person should be reported. Instead of spreading hate, she reckoned that he should “get a life”. Following the incident, a number of her followers have reported the person on Instagram.

Elaine Ng (吳綺莉) and her love child with Jackie Chan – Etta Ng (吳卓林) – have often made headlines for their rocky relationship.
5 months ago, Elaine even went as far as to publicly disowned her daughter on social media (presumably after a heated argument). It looks like the mother-daughter duo are finally on talking terms again.
In conjunction with her 46th birthday on Monday (23rd September), Elaine was asked if she celebrated the occasion with her child. “She has gone out for a meal with me recently, but it was not to celebrate my birthday. Birthdays can be celebrated every day if needed, and I have not celebrated mine after turning 18 years old,” the actress said.
These days, both Elaine and Etta have apparently made progress and improved their relationship. Now that they are aware of each other’s boundaries, the pair know what topics not to bring up when talking to one another. “It used to be a parent-child relationship, but it is now one between friends,” she added.
Elaine admitted that she sometimes looses her temper and has used some pretty strong words towards Etta in the heat of an argument.
Meanwhile, we also learn that Etta and her beau Andi Autumn have separated after they deleted each other’s photos from their respective social media. No word yet if they’re still on talking terms though.
Ashton Kutcher, 41, doesn’t seem to be too pleased after Demi Moore, 56, spilled the tea on their relationship before they broke up.
“I was about to push the button on a really snarky tweet. Then I saw my son, daughter, and wife and I deleted it,” the 41-year-old actor tweeted, before adding in a separate tweet, “For truth text me. +1 (319) 519-0576“.
The urge to post the “snarky tweet” came after Moore debuted her memoir, “Inside Out”, where she detailed her roller-coaster life and the men she’s been with. For those that don’t remember, Kutcher and Moore were married from 2005 to 2013.
The 56-year-old actress revealed that Kutcher cheated on her twice after she felt pressured to have a threesome in order to fulfil his sexual needs. “I wanted to show him how great and fun I could be,” Moore wrote, admitting that the decision was a “mistake”.
“I don’t think it should be implied that he instigated. I think it was—and again in trying to keep the perspective on my story—he expressed something that was of a fantasy and it was in my efforts to want to please and be what I thought he wanted,” the actress told Ellen DeGeneres during an interview.
While filming “Another Happy Day” in 2010, Moore came across reports that her then-husband had an affair with Pilates instructor Sara Leal. “I felt sick to my stomach,” she wrote. “I knew she wasn’t lying.”
Moore confronted Kutcher about his infidelity, to which he tried to “deflect blame” and claimed that the threesomes was what led to the extramarital affair. “Because we had brought a third party into our relationship, Ashton said, that blurred the lines and, to some extent, justified what he’d done,” the author added.
In the revealing book, Moore also recalled her miscarriage with Kutcher’s baby in 2003. They were planning on naming the baby girl Chaplin Ray but unfortunately she lost the child 6 months into her pregnancy. Although the former flames tried again in 2005 – this time with fertility treatments – it wasn’t successful.
The actress-author spoke to Kutcher before the memoir was released. “In a way, I’m nervous for anyone who is in there from a point of view of feeling sensitive and putting myself in their place, but overall, no,” Moore told DeGeneres. “I feel so good about the point of view, which for me, this is—I have no interest in blaming or villainising anyone. The journey in the book is about overcoming.”
Before Kutcher came along, Moore was married to musician Freddy Moore from 1980 to 1985. She later tied the knot with Bruce Willis from 1987 to 2000. The pair share 3 daughters together – Rumer, 31, Scout, 28, and Tallulah, 25.
Meanwhile, married his “That ’70s Show” co-star Mila Kunis in 2015. They have 2 children together – daughter Wyatt, 4, and son Dimitri, 2.
Despite their separation, it’s good to see that both Bella Astillah and Aliff Aziz are still maintaining a close friendship with each other.
Additionally, the 23-year-old singer who is now known as an actress also revealed that she’s finally forgiven her ex-husband. She further added that she doesn’t want to prolong the issue between them.
Recently, a twitter user known as @EBatrishiaa shared a snippet of Bella’s Instagram live session online. In the 56-seconds clip, the “Cinta Belum Tamat Tempoh” star and also Aliff were seen singing “Almost Is Never Enough” by Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes together.
The couple’s friendly interactions have received significant amount of reaction among local keyboard warriors, with most of them leaving harsh comments towards both Bella and Alif.
Some even labelled her as an ‘idiot’ as well as ‘attention seeker’ for her willingness to keep in touch with her former husband. Check out the video and also some of the netizens’ reactions here:
As a response to the backlash, Bella released a statement on her Instagram story. Her lengthy post reads:
“I have the right to do anything I want on my Instagram account. Those who talked about me being hungry for glamour and stuffs – it’s their rights to do so. The most important thing is that I know my intention. Some people assumed that just because we’re divorced, we have to avoid from each other and become enemies. But sorry, I’m not like that.
“And excuse me, no one seeks to get married only to end up separating. Divorce is painful but that’s the reality we have to accept. In my case, we have a son, Ayden. He still needs his father. I really hope that you won’t be too old-fashion. We’re still keeping a good relationship for the sake of our child. We don’t know about the future yet. Life, death, separation – all of them are not in our control. It’s better for us to self-reflect, improve ourselves rather than focusing on things that won’t benefit us,” Bella wrote on her post.
For those who might not know, the couple got divorced on 16th May 2019 after the Singaporean actor was caught red handed in a series of scandalous relationships with a number of women.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently paid their royal visit to South Africa.
During the 2nd day of their trip, the couple made their stop at Auwal Masjid mosque, the oldest praying hall ever built in the city of Cape Town. They also had tea session as well as conducted discussions with members of the mosque.
The royal lovebirds managed to wow the crowd for their choice of clothing during their visit there. Prince Harry looked dapper in a light blue shirt that was layered with a suit. While Meghan stunned in a long khaki-coloured dress that covered her knees.
In addition, the former actress was also seen covering her head with a piece of cream-coloured headscarf while touring. Prince Harry also showed his respect by removing his shoes before entering the mosque.
Check out additional pictures captured during their 2nd day of tour there:
The photos of the “Suits” starlet covering her hair have received tons of positive words online. Most of them complimented her stunning looks as well as praised her beauty. A comment by an Instagram user @rachelnabavian also pointed out that the black-and-white effect photos are “so artsy. As if it’s like a photo shoot for modelling”.
Meghan along with Prince Harry have paid their visit to the Bo-Kaap area in Cape Town, South Africa to celebrate the country’s Heritage Day with local citizens there.
