The truth is, we are all eagerly anticipating for Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder to release the first main trailer of their upcoming DC Comics film, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. However, all we received so far are just rumours and speculations.
Back in October 2014, it was rumoured that the studio is set to release the first teaser trailer during the screening of “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies“. The rumour, which originated from “Batman-On-Film”, was then proven to be false because no trailer or footage of the film was shown.
In January this year, Latino Review’s writer Umberto Gonzalez broke the news that the teaser trailer is reportedly going to arrive with “Jupiter Ascending” in February. A movie website called “The Projection List” also confirmed the report by listing out “the entire cinematic release schedule”, including the official and projected dates for all theatrical, home, and trailer releases”.
Having wrapped its filming last December, the trailer was said to be the same video that was shown at the Warner Bros panel during the San Diego Comic-Con 2014. Unfortunately, the report was once again proven to be false.
At this point, we remain sceptical over the reports about the trailer because there were too many rumours floating around the Internet.
But after getting our first look at “Game of Thrones” star Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, we are starting to believe that a trailer should be released very soon. We are confident enough to say that because Variety was told by various sources that it will be attached to “Mad Max: Fury Road” on 15th May.
The news was first reported by Collider. According to the site, the studio did not know for sure if the trailer should be released when “Avengers: Age of Ultron” opens in late April or late May.
Most fans think that it should be out by now, but the marketing for the movie is much trickier than expected. The studio wants everyone to talk about “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, thus Collider stated that the trailer “could end up getting released before Marvel’s upcoming “Avengers” film.”
Warner Bros. has yet to comment on the news confirmed by both Variety and Collider.
