Earlier on 12th Feb, YG Entertainment CEO made a surprise announcement that BIGBANG’s long-awaited comeback is indeed going to happen in April this year. This is a huge step forward for the group as this is their first album in 3 years after the 2012’s “Still Alive” album. However, this isn’t the only comeback we look forward to because another comeback is in the pipeline and it’s going to be phenomenal.

We say it will be phenomenal because it was reported that SNSD Girls’ Generation is set to make their first comeback an 8-member group this year.

The group made their last Korean comeback with “Mr.Mr.” in February 2014 before embarking on their first fan meeting tour across China. Multiple industry insiders told Korean media outlet Sports DongA that the group is aiming for a Korean comeback this May. It will be their first studio album since the release of “I Got a Boy” album in 2013. However, since Jessica Jung already left the group, the group will make their long-awaited comeback as an 8-member group instead.

Before releasing an OST for KBS drama “Young Blood”, Tiffany hinted at the group’s comeback on her Instagram but SM Entertainment has released an official statement to deny Sports Donga’s reports of the group’s Korean comeback. “SNSD has been continuously working on preparations, however, the date for a [Korean] comeback has not been finalised,” a rep for the company said. Meanwhile, SM Entertainment has announced that SNSD Girls’ Generation is set to release their 9th Japanese single, “Catch Me If You Can” in April. The report about the music release has been met with varying responses from the fans because this will be their first music release without Jessica. It was rumoured that the former member is preparing a comeback via her Japanese solo debut but SM did not respond to comment.

The group will not be skipping promotions for their Japanese single in Korea this year and they are currently busy in other activities as well including variety shows, radio MCs, acting, and reality shows.

So, are you excited about their comeback, if it happens? When do you think they will make their Korean comeback? Share your thoughts in the comment box below.
