After wowing us with her glorious performance at this year’s Oscars, Lady Gaga surprised us again with an announcement about her involvement in FX anthology series “American Horror Story” (AHS).

The newly engaged pop diva announced on her social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) that she is set to appear as a series regular in Season 5 of “American Horror Story”. Having previously worked with AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy for Fox’s musical-comedy “Glee”, her involvement in the anthology series will mark their second time working together. It will also mark her first starring role in a major production as an actress.
But of course, this isn’t her first acting credit as she starred in her own music videos and several big budget films including Barry Sonnenfeld’s “Men in Black 3″, Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete Kills” and “Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For”. In the “Sin City” sequel, Rodriguez found a minor role where she shared some screen time with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The director told E!Online that he was “blown away by her discipline” and could tell that “she studied acting” before she became a singer.
Her role has yet to be announced and it is unclear how many episodes she will appear in. This isn’t the first time the series has featured a musician because Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine had a recurring role as Leo Morrison in the second season of AHS.
More crucial details about Lady Gaga’s role are expected to be revealed during the 32nd Annual PaleyFest in Los Angeles on 15th March. Titled “American Horror Story: Hotel”, the 5th season is expected to air this fall.
