No, unfortunately, you won’t be able to check out the film’s teaser trailer online unless you make your way to the nearest movie theatre.
In fact, you may need to wait a little longer as Lucasfilm has confirmed that the first official trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be first shown to the fans living across North America at 30 selected movie theatres on November 28th.
Having wrapped up the filming of the upcoming “Star Wars” film, it was confirmed that the first teaser trailer of the film will be shown before the movies at a limited amount of movie theatres across North America on this Friday. The trailer will run for 88 seconds from Friday to Sunday and make its worldwide debut in early December.
According to Slash Film, the announcement about the release of the film’s teaser trailer was accidentally revealed by Regal Entertainment Group, the largest operator of movie theaters in the US. Upon realising their mistake, the Regal Theatres chain replaced the post with an image of Mon Mothma, jokingly saying that many Bothans had died to unveil this information.
But of course, this isn’t as bad as the situation where the trailer of Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” was leaked before its official release. Although Disney and Lucasfilm are extremely strict and secretive about the production of the film, director J.J. Abrams have been teasing the fans with photos of the movie set and even debuted a “first look” at the Millennium Falcon from “Star Wars Episode VII” in a short clip.
Thus, soon after the accidental revelation, J.J. Abrams’ production team confirmed that a teaser trailer will be released through the official Twitter account:
