Oh, Johnny Depp, what big ears you have! All the better to hear us, huh?
The last we saw Johnny Depp as the evil big bad wolf, it was in the trailer and the movie stills of “Into the Woods” where we only caught a glimpse of his hands. But now, we’ve finally gotten our first look at Depp in the guise of the wolf and one thing we’ve noticed is how the actor is already showing the mischievous side of his character!
Featuring the cast of Disney’s upcoming musical film “Into the Woods”, the latest Entertainment Weekly covers have given us the first look at Johnny Depp as the hungry wolf in the Brother Grimm’s classic fairy tale “Little Red Riding Hood”:
Based on the Broadway musical play of the same name, the film puts a twist of fate on all the major characters from 4 classic fairy tales including “Cinderella”, “Little Red Riding Hood”, “Rapunzel”, and “Jack and the Beanstalk”. However, the story mainly focuses on a childless baker (played by James Corden) and his wife (played by Emily Blunt) who encountered these fairy tales’ characters during their quest to end the curse placed on them by a vengeful witch (played by Meryl Streep).
With Depp’s previous musical experience in the Tim Burton’s musical film “Sweeney Todd”, the actor will once again showing off his talent in singing through this new Disney film. In fact, the cast of the film is expected to sing the songs that were featured in the musical, including “Agony”, “Children Will Listen”, “Giants in the Sky”, and so on. With some twisted elements that comes with shocking deaths, the film could be Disney’s first-ever film with such dark elements.
Curious to find out how it will look like? Just stay tuned for more updates!
The film is slated for a release on 25th December, just in time for Christmas.
