Yo 80′s/90′s babies! This week on #ThrowbackThursday, we pay tribute to one of the greatest rappers to have ever walked the face of earth. A rapper that single handedly redefined the sound of East Coast Hip-Hop, to the world. A man so influential to Hip-Hop, it’s music and the culture…that he continues to be the primary source of education to the thousands of rappers, out there, around the world. I’m talking Christopher George Latore Wallace. I’m talking The Notorious B.I.G. AKA Biggie Smalls.
At a time where Hip-Hop music’s attention was dominantly focused on the West Side, the Bedstuy of Brooklyn, New York native was undoubtedly the one responsible for the polar shift in rap, after dropping his debut effort Ready To Die fall of ’94, sparking the infamous East & West coast feud. The outcome of said feud may have costed him and fellow ‘best friend-turned-adversary’ Tupac ’2Pac’ Shakur’s life, but their legacy lives on forever with what they have done for the culture in a whole. Here’s Biggie in his best understated swagger, reminding you why he’s not just a player, he’s the player president.
