Berjaya Times Square, a massive shopping mall and hotel complex in Kuala Lumpur, decided to celebrate its 10th anniversary with an attempt to make the largest the world has ever seen. Not in terms of a largest complex, but something else to bring the child out in you!
Located at the mall’s Ground Floor Central, a giant vending machine was meticulously built over a period of seven weeks, thus receiving a Guinness Book Of World Records accreditation for the World’s Largest Capsule Vending Machine!
Guinness World Records Adjudicator, Jack Brockbank, confirmed that the super-sized machine had indeed set a new world record with the capsule vending machine measuring 9.83 metres in height, with a diameter of 4.70 metres, and an internal volume of 22.52 m³.
The fully operational machine is currently on display in the mall as a prize-giving attraction, with large screen TVs, iPads and exclusive cash vouchers for stores within the shopping centre among the items available for visitors to win.
