“I know Kung-fu;” the exact words of Keanu Reeves in the Matrix, remember? Well, we guess that the may or may not have martial arts skills, but there is a whole lot of Samurai action happening in 47 Ronin. We’d like to think of it as a Matrix – Last Samurai hybrid!
This fantasy-action-adventure flick is based on the accounts of the Fourty-seven Ronin, a real-life group of samurai set in 18th-century Japan who avenge the murder of their master (known as a “chūshingura” in Japan). The film is directed by Carl Erik Rinsch
We’re excited mainly because there’s chance that seeing half a dozen big-budget samurai battles that might just be worth the price of a ticket. Oh, did we mention Rinko Kikuchi is involved as well!
