Founded in New Jersey in 2001, US alternative rock band My Chemical Romance comprised of members Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Mikey Way, and Frank Iero. They were best-known for their UK #1 single, “Welcome To The Black Parade”, which shot them to ultimate rocker fame and topped the charts in 2006.
However, after 12 years of being together, the My Chemical Romance boys have decided to go their separate ways. In an official announcement posted on their website, they said:
Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We’ve gotten to go places we never knew we would. We’ve been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.
Aww. Well, time to head out and buy all of their studio albums (there are four in total) because soon they’ll be collector’s items. Especially the platinum-selling “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge” and “The Black Parade”. Just saying. We leave you now with one of our favourite songs from the band:
“So long and goodnight..”
