You know what? Forget about comic book movies that centre on superheroes saving the world.
Grab your chimichangas and prepare yourselves for the chaos-filled “Deadpool” movie because its official trailer has finally been released online.
The official trailer was first shown during this year’s Comic-Con at San Diego and it generated a large amount of buzz from fans who attended the studio’s panel. The cast and the director were stunned by the audiences’ reactions as they gave it a long standing ovation. They then decided to air the exclusive footage the 2nd time. At that time, the studio wasn’t able to release it online due to unfinished VFX shots.
Of course, fans didn’t have to wait long for the trailer to be released as Ryan Reynolds recently prepped fans for the chaos by donning the iconic red costume in the hilarious teaser trailer. And today, veteran talk show host Conan O’Brien debuted the red band version of the trailer when Reynolds was making a guest appearance on his TBS show “Conan”.
Needless to say, it was glorious.
Directed by Tim Miller, the R-rated movie is based on a script by “Zombieland” writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
The official synopsis is as follows:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, “Deadpool” tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
It stars Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, “Gotham” star Morena Baccarin as Vanessa/Copycat, “Fast & Furious 6” star Gina Carano as Angel Dust, TJ Miller as Deadpool’s sidekick Weasel, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and “Game of Thrones” star Ed Skrein as Ajax.
