Remember when Paramount Pictures announced that they were interested in expanding the “Transformers” movie into a huge cinematic universe (much like Marvel‘s and DC‘s)?

Well, it seems like they are serious about that as Deadline reported that 5 new high-profile scribes have been added to the writers’ team. Robert Kirkman, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, Jeff Pinkner, and Zak Penn are now part of the lineup, and they all have Hollywood blockbusters to their names.

Kirkman is a comic book writer, famous for being the author of “The Walking Dead” and “Invincible”. He has also worked on the “Ultimate X-Men” and “Marvel Zombies” series for Marvel Comics.

Marcum and Holloway are no strangers to each other, as they both worked together as scriptwriters for the 1st “Iron Man” instalment and “Punisher: War Zone”. Pinkner was the scribes for “Fringe” and “Lost” while Penn has penned several action movies such as “X-Men: The Last Stand” and “The Incredible Hulk”.

They will join Akiva Goldsman (“I Am Legend”), Michael Bay (“Transformers: Age of Extinction“), Steven Spielberg (“Schindler’s List“), and Lorenzo di Bonaventura (“GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra”) in conceptualising the Transformers cinematic universe. So far, no specific information has been released, but sequels and spin-offs of the originals are expected.

The star of the “Transformers: Age of Extinction”, Mark Wahlberg, has previously stated that he is contracted to the production company for “a couple more” Transformers movie. This revelation makes it more likely for the actor to return for future outings as Cade Yeager.
