Hello Kitty fans, we’ve all had our fair share of nice Hello Kitty things in Malaysia. In the past we’ve written about the Hello Kitty vending machine at Avenue K, as well as our experience at the Sanrio Hello Kitty Town in Johor. But this one (when it opens) will really take the cake!
Recently, we spied something too cute to not share while we were out and about in Petaling Jaya. We promise we weren’t stalking!

Just in case you think that the picture above was in any way doctored, not that we’d want to give anyone of you false hope to begin with anyway, a quick search on Google pulled up a JobStreet result where the cafe put up a recruitment ad for a Head Chef at a Hello Kitty Gourmet Cafe!

From what we know (thanks to Google!), there aren’t that many Hello Kitty Gourmet Cafes in the world but there are, however, Hello Kitty cafes located in the US, in Korea, in Hong Kong, and in Japan – where it all began, of course.
Editor: I’ve personally been to the Hello Kitty cafe in Hongdae, Seoul and it’s super cute!
And while we’re on the topic of Hello Kity cafes located around the world, here are some pictures that were taken at those locations, just to give you a rough idea of what you can expect from the Hello Kitty Gourmet Cafe:
Where will the Hello Kitty Gourmet Cafe be located, you ask? Why, right smack in the heart of one of the busiest malls in Petaling Jaya – Sunway Pyramid shopping mall!
You see, upon further investigation (which took us only about all of a few steps’ worth of walking, to be honest), we can now also confirm that the Hello Kitty Gourmet Cafe will open right next to the popular Korean joint, also one of our favourites, Caffe Bene.

With enough pictures to prove it, we guess it’s safe to say that this is indeed legit 
Unfortunately, we don’t have further information about the Hello Kitty Gourmet Cafe at Sunway Pyramid as of yet. But you can be sure that we’ll be updating this post with more details as soon as we get ‘em so keep checking back with us!
