“Go, go, Power Rangers!”
The upcoming reboot of 90’s superhero movie “Power Rangers” movie has a new release date from its initial date.
Originally slated for release on July 22, 2016, Lionsgate has announced that the release of the movie will now be pushed to January 13, 2017.
“X-Men: First Class” writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz have come on board to pen the script while the studio tapped Dean Israelite to be the director of the film. “Power Rangers” creator Haim Saban will produce the film together with Brian Casentini, head of development and production for Saban Brands, and Allison Shearmur, who oversaw production of the “The Hunger Games” movies at Lionsgate.
Saban unveiled “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” in 1993 as a live-action TV series. They have since grown insanely popular, with the series being renamed each year- the most recent iteration being “Power Rangers Super Megaforce”.
The movie, “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” will focus on a group of high school kids, who band together to fight evildoers set on destroying the world.
