Director David Ayer certainly wasn’t joking (no pun intended) when he said Jared Leto’s role in his upcoming DC Comics film“Suicide Squad” would be “majestic“.
Having recently shared a full cast photo on Twitter, the “Fury” director released another photo to show us Jared Leto‘s transformation into the Joker:

Produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, “Suicide Squad” will be executive produced by Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Colin Wilson, and Geoff Johns. Ayer is attached to direct the film, based on Justin Marks’ screenplay.
The film is based on the original DC Comic of the same name, where a group of supervillains find themselves going on a most unlikely mission for a shot at redemption. However, the mission will probably kill them all. Although The Joker isn’t a member of the squad, he is the frequent accomplice and boyfriend of Harley Quinn.
Leto may not be in his full costume and make-up, but it helps that he dyed his hair green and paid homage to the cover of Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s “Killing Joke”.
Leto is joining the film alongside Will Smith‘s Deadshot, Margot Robbie‘s Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney‘s Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman‘s Rick Flag, Cara Delevingne‘s Enchantress, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s Killer Croc.
Jay Rodriguez, Scott Eastwood, and Viola Davis are also set to appear in the film
Ed Harris and Jackie Earle Haley are rumoured to appear in the film, but Warner Bros. has yet to make the official casting announcement. Latino Review reported that Jim Parrack will play Deathstroke because the studio “decided to go younger with the character”. Ike Barinholtz is said to be portraying Dr. Hugo Strange while Adam Beach is rumoured to be playing Ravan.
“Suicide Squad” is slated for release on 5th August 2016.
