Well, it ain’t over for “The Expendables” yet, it seems.
According to Deadline, Fox is developing a miniseries based on Sylvester Stallone’s “The Expendables” assassin trilogy. Not only will it see TV action actors getting in on the action, but the man himself will also co-produce the TV miniseries alongside the films’ original producer, Avi Lerner.
The first 3 movies in “The Expendables” franchisee have grossed almost $800 million in the worldwide box office. A fourth and fifth instalment as well as a female offshoot, “The Expendabelles” are in various stages of development.
The “The Expendables” TV miniseries is described as a “fun action drama that unites iconic TV stars as a new team of highly-skilled heroes who are on a mission to stop a dangerous terrorist”. Hmm, something to think about, considering how the movie franchise more or less flopped in the later years.
No details on the cast have been announced but the world of TV aren’t exactly short of actions stars to choose from i.e. Kiefer Sutherland of “24”. Who else do you think would fit the bill of the TV extension of “The Expendables”? Leave your suggestions in the comments box below!
