Missy be puttin’ it down!
Missy Elliot surprised everyone in the pop culture sphere when she joined Katy Perry during her Super Bowl performance, and it looks like that might have been the boost she needed for a comeback. The American rapper who released a couple of singles last year didn’t really catch the attention of many but her streams got a massive Spotify boost after she performed “Get Ur Freak On,” “Work It” and “Lose Control at the Super Bowl.

Ever since then, many have been impatiently waiting on new music from Missy and have now received good news! The rapper has announced that she’s been in the studio with longtime friend and collaborator Timbaland, cooking something up.
On Tuesday night, Missy shared a photo of her and Timbaland in the studio on Twitter with the caption: “Me & & @Timbaland bk 2 the drawing board studio dirty beats.”

It’s been 10 years since she’s released a full-length studio album. Missy’s “The Cookbook” was released on July 4th, 2005 which peaked at number #1 on Top Rap Albums chart and number #2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
