In October 2014, we wrote that Marvel announced their full Marvel Cinematic Universe slate, which revealed the films titles they’ve scheduled through 2019.

Within that announcement, Marvel confirmed that their first black superhero, Black Panther, will be getting its own solo film. The studio also revealed that they will be producing their first female superhero film with “Captain Marvel”, which marks the second female superhero that will appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The upcoming “Avengers” film will be the launch pad for the subsequent films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the studio also announced that the “Inhumans” solo film is underway. Also, it turned out that the rumour about a third “Avengers” film is true as the slate showed that the final “Avengers” will be divided into 2 parts, namely Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2.

However, just today, Marvel amended the slate to adjust the release dates for the 4 future instalments that were previously announced. The dates include Thor’s next solo adventure as well as the first films for Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and the Inhumans.

The full amended movie slate is as follows:

  • July 17, 2015: Ant-Man
  • May 6, 2016: Captain America: Civil War
  • Nov 4, 2016: Doctor Strange
  • May 5, 2017: Guardians of the Galaxy 2
  • Nov 3, 2017: Thor: Ragnarok (Previously July 28, 2017)
  • May 4, 2018: Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1
  • July 6, 2018: Black Panther (Previously Nov 3, 2017)
  • Nov 2, 2018: Captain Marvel (Previously July 6, 2018)
  • May 3, 2019: Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2
  • July 12, 2019: Inhumans (Previously Nov 2, 2018)

The previously announced dates for Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2” remain unchanged.

Meanwhile, guess with web slinging superhero is now officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Yes, it’s Spidey! With that in mind, perhaps this explains why Marvel needed to move the dates around for their upcoming movies – the next “Spider-Man” movie is due out on 28th July 2017.

That makes sense.
