It was a star-studded gathering at the Royal Opera House in London on 8th Feb 2015 as a number of Hollywood’s A-listers gathered for the 68th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs). Presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), the prestigious award honours the best British and international contributions to film in 2014.

The nominees were earlier announced on 9th Jan by actor Sam Claflin and Stephen Fry, the host of the award show. This is the 10th time that Stephen Fry was hired to host the award ceremony and British rock band Kasabian officially kicked off the night with their spectacular performances.

Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel” led the award by winning 5 awards out of its 11 nominations, including for “Original Music”, “Production Design”, “Make Up and Hair”, “Original Screenplay”, and “Costume Design”. America film “Boyhood”, which has been receiving nothing but praises, took home the “Best Film” award for BAFTAs 2015. The movie’s director Richard Linklater also won the “Best Director Award” while supporting actress Patricia Arquette won the “Best Supporting Actress” award.

Starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, British biopic-drama “The Theory Of Everything” won 3 awards for the BAFTAs including the “Outstanding British Film” award, the “Best Actor” award, and the “Adapted Screenplay” award. Sony Pictures Classics’ “Whiplash” won 3 awards as well while “The LEGO Movie” only won the “Best Animated Film”.
