#WeRunKL: KL Roads Closure In Conjunction With The Run & Thaipusam

KLites take note.

Selected roads around the city will be closed gradually starting February 1st (Sunday) to make way for two events − Nike We Run KL 2015 and the Thaipusam chariot procession.

KL traffic police chief ACP Mohd Nadzri Hussain said that roads affected for the run on February 1st are Jalan Petaling, Jalan Maharajalela, Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Hishamuddin, Jalan Raja, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Loke Yew, Cheras Roundabout (U-turn), the Dewan Bahasa roundabout and Stadium Merdeka. The roads will be closed from 5am to 10am on Sunday.

As for the Thaipusam chariot processions, roads will be closed in stages from February 1st (Sunday) to February 4th (Wednesday).

According to Mohd Nadzri, the procession will start on February 1st at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Jalan Tun H.S. Lee and proceed along Jalan Sultan, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Tun Perak, Leboh Ampang, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Jalan Dang Wangi, past Sogo, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Sri Amar, Jalan Tun Razak (the U-turn in front of the Fire and Rescue Station), Jalan Ipoh (Jalan Salleh), Jalan Kovil Hilir, Lorong Kovil Hulu, Jalan Perhentian, Jalan Ipoh and Jalan Ipoh Batu 5, to Batu Caves.

He further stated that a couple of roads would be closed again during the return procession on February 4th starting at the Sri Subramaniam Temple in Batu Caves and proceeding along Jalan Ipoh Batu 5, Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Perhentian, Lorong Kovil Hulu, Jalan Kovil Hilir, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Jalan Ampang, Leboh Ampang, Jalan Tun Perak and Jalan Sultan, Jalan Hang Kasturi, Jalan Hang Lekir, to the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Jalan Tun H.S Lee.

Now, should you want to head into the city, it is advised that you utilise public transport. Though, we personally suggest you stay home and enjoy the long-weekend by having movie marathons.
