So, tell us.
Did you just try to refresh your Facebook profile only to have this error greet you?
Yup. Your account is temporarily unavailable. But don’t worry, it’s not because someone hacked into your profile and managed to lock you out while initiating “Operation Do A Lot Of Damage”. It’s because Facebook is down. And if that’s not enough, it seems that popular photo-sharing social media platform Instagram is down too.
Their website, for some reason, refuses to load. And the app can’t seem to refresh for updates either:
Plus, this is not confined to just Malaysians alone as it’s apparently a global issue.
We quote TNW:
Users worldwide are experiencing issues connecting to Facebook and Instagram, both on the Web and via mobile apps. It’s not clear what’s causing the outage, which first occurred around 1:10am ET. However, Facebook-owned mobile messaging service WhatsApp is running as usual. We’ve contacted Facebook for more details and will update this post as soon as we hear back.
So hold on to your sanity, peeps. Your coffee/shoes/#ootd/#selfie/#wefie Instagram posts can wait. Meanwhile, maybe we can all slowly dust off our Twitter accounts – or go out and have some sun for a change.
After all, people are now (back) on Twitter calling this the #SocialMeltdown2015:
We’ll update this post with more information as soon as we have ‘em.
