Malaysian travellers can rejoice as the fee to make or renew their passport for 5 years is now RM200, down by RM100, effective Thursday (15th Jan). The passport fee for senior citizens, children below 12, Haj pilgrims, and students below 21 and studying abroad is RM100.
Prior to this, senior citizens and students studying abroad paid RM150 for a five-year-passport. The disabled do not need to pay for a passport.
The notice of the latest directive was posted outside immigration offices on Thursday. With the reduction of the 5-year passport fees, the 2-year passport is not available anymore.
