Perhaps, whoever’s dead in the series should just stay dead.
We’ve seen how CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” resurrected some of the series’ famed characters through Bonnie Bennett’s witchery but when Bonnie (played by Kat Graham) brought Elena Gilbert’s brother, Jeremy Gilbert, back to the series, we knew it was not going to last for very long.
Yes, everyone. Unfortunately, Jeremy Gilbert will leave Mystic Falls once again.
Jeremy Gilbert is portrayed by series regular, Steven R. McQueen. However, according to TV Line, TVD exec producer Julie Plec revealed that the the series regular will officially say goodbye to Mystic Falls soon. In fact, this series might just be that one heartbreaking season for everyone because Plec has also further revealed that Jeremy’s departure was supposed to help them to conclude the show.
She said:
We’re in the third act of our storytelling of the show, Everything that we’re doing is moving towards the end. Over the course of the next few years, we will need to start having the characters make choices about what they want with their lives and say goodbye to some people. It’s all part of moving toward the end, however long that takes.
Steven R. McQueen will depart from the series after an episode called “Stay”, which is the 14th episode of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6.
Technically, there are many other characters such as Alaric Saltzman or Tyler Lockwood who were supposed to stay dead throughout the series. But in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, some characters include Jeremy Gilbert made unexpected returns to the human world while some were sent to the world of dead.
For Jeremy Gilbert, Plec revealed that the character really is leaving this time:
It’s time for him to go out and live his life and we’re actually going to say goodbye to Steven R. McQueen as a series regular. He’s growing up and moving on. He will be out living a real life.
But fortunately for you, Plec dropped hints that the character is leaving Mystic Falls not because he’s going to die again. Plec tweeted the youngest Gilbert was merely going to “apply to art school” and could appear in the show again, be it at “weddings, funerals, and series finales”:
Jeremy Gilbert applies to art school. No really. #tvd 2015 #dotheyhavecrossbowsthere
