Lana Del Rey is back from “West Coast” and is so ready to go on a “honeymoon” soon.

It doesn’t matter if you are not fond of her previous album “Ultraviolence”, there’s no denying that the “Brooklyn baby” is a talented indie darling who has produced numerous hit songs including “Summertime Sadness”, “Young and Beautiful”, “West Coast”, “Born to Die”, etc.

In fact, she’s showing no signs of stopping just yet as the New York songstress recently confirmed to Billboard that she is planning to release a follow-up to her previous album, “Ultraviolence” soon.

Titled “Honeymoon”, the new album will consist of a cover of “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” (Nina Simone’s version) and 9 songs written by Lana Del Rey herself. During the interview with Billboard, she stated that the production is going perfect so far and that she is still “looking for a few more songs to tie everything together”.

After Del Rey’s success with “Young and Beautiful” in “The Great Gatsby“, American film producer Harvey Weistein from The Weinstein Co approached her and asked if she would like to involve in producing the title track for Tim Burton’s new movie “Big Eyes“. Set in the late 50s, the film tells the story of Margeret Keane, a painter who gets into a legal battle with her husband to prove who’s the actual painter of drawings.

Regarding Harvey’s decision to involve her in the project, she said:

Because he knew I loved Tim Burton, Harvey said, ‘Why don’t you write a title track, something with the chorus of “big eyes”?’ Tim was nice enough to listen to it, and he liked it.

Del Rey has since released 2 new songs for the film. Co-written by Daniel Heath and Del Rey, one of the songs, “Big Eyes” has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award. The song is also contending to be included in the upcoming Academy Award, in which nominations will be announced come 15th Jan.

Another song that she composed for the film was revealed during the end credits of the film. Del Rel described that she reworked the lyrics of of “I Can Fly” so that she could “talk more about what she was doing [in the film].” She also revealed that “Big Eyes” was meant to sum up Margaret’s tale with a bit of her own personal imagery.

When asked about how the new album will sound, she said:

It’s very different from the last one and similar to the first two, Born to Die and Paradise. I finished my last one [Ultraviolence] in March and released it in June and I had a follow-up idea. It’s growing into something I really like. I’m kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It’s been good.

No further details about her album has been announced yet but we will keep you posted.
