#Frozen: Sequel Not Happening, Idina Menzel Only Assumed It Was

Yup, time to let it go, everyone. The sequel of Disney’s “Frozen” not in the works at the moment, but a stage version of the musical film will be developed for Broadway instead.

The rumour about the possible sequel of the Oscar-winning animated film emerged after the “Frozen” voice cast Idina Menzel (who voiced Elsa in “Frozen”) told UK-based newspaper The Telegraph that both the stage version and the sequel of the Oscar-winning animated film are “in the works”. However, Menzel later cleared up the confusion by saying that she had “no idea” about Disney’s plans on the movie.

She appeared on Today Show on Monday morning and revealed that she had “no idea” what will happen to the sequel, even though she was hoping to return as Disney princess. She said:

You know, I have no idea. I just assumed that because it’s so successful that’s what they’re up to!

Earlier in April this year, the report about a Frozen sequel was personally denied by Disney chairman Alan Horn as he told the reporters that the studio was concentrating on getting a stage version of the musical film instead. Disney CEO Bob Iger and other executives did not announce anything regarding the film’s sequel but Disney executive Thomas Schumacher, the Disney executive revealed that the stage show “was more important than making it fast”.
