American born Taiwanese DJ/producer Andrew Chen, more recognisable from his stage name Shogun, has just released the lead off single from his upcoming album.
Shogun has long been revered as one of the most consistent, solid producers to grace the Armind label. A mainstay of A State of Trance, he’s well known for his tracks “Zanarkand”, “Erhu”, “Abduction”, and “Find Me” (featuring Tania Zygar). Now, he has been given the chance to show what he can do in a full length album, something that we hear has been in the making for about 4 years now.
So if you’re about to say, “It’s about damn time!”, then you’ve got that pretty much spot on – and we share your sentiments:
“Dragon”, the album that’s forthcoming on Armada Recordings, will feature 10 tracks highlighting the absolute best side of trance, progressive, and electro music. Ranging from vocal bangers like “Underwater” to fierce, beat-driven tunes like “Laputa”, “Dragon” is a tour de force work from one of the most inspiring producers in the game.
The track is already receiving support from Armin’s radio show and podcast, injecting soaring vocals infused with uplifting synth hooks and mesmerising melodic breakdowns into the ears of the ever faithful #trancefamily. Did 4 whole years seem like it was well worth the wait now for Shogun’s full-length album?
As Armin van Buuren said, “All good things come to those who wait”. Listen to “Dragon” here:
