Oh, if only we knew better.

Ever watched a movie and thought to yourself, “Why am I even watching this?”, “This is such a waste of time”, or just flat out walk out the cinema because the movie is so unbearable that you couldn’t stand it? We sure have. For as long as we can remember, we’ve been blessed with some really good movies and also cursed with some really horrible ones. If you’ve noticed or if you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that the Hype.My team (yes, that us) are big movie buffs. From horror to gore to b-rated movies to risqué movies and to movies based on real-life events, we can’t get enough of movies.

Now, just because we enjoy watching movies, doesn’t mean that we’ve not had some pretty horrible experiences. Like every other year, 2014 to date, has had its fair share of some really good, some decent, and some really crappy movies. Here’s a list of movies that we’ve found to be a complete waste of time:

1. Ouija

Vengeful Spirits Are Summoned In “Ouija” Movie Trailer

Director Stile White’s horror movie entitled, “Ouija” was a nothing but a huge plate of disappointment. From its draggy, deathly slow pace to boring and ghastly dialogue as well as nonexistent scares, “Ouija” was nothing but a bland collection of cliches being served up in the name of horror. Seriously, if you expect literally nothing from the movies you pay to see, then this is just what you’re looking for.

2. Transformers: Age of Extinction

We honestly don’t know which was a bigger waste of time – “Pain & Gain” or “Transformers: Age of Extinction”. This has got to be the longest 3 hours and 15 minutes of our lives. Messy, boring, dull and lousy-liners and hard to follow action sequences is what Michael Bay offered with “Transformers: Age of Extinction”. Then again, after Bay and Wahlberg worked together on “Pain & Gain” last year, we can’t really say we’re surprised that this movie didn’t turn out great. Maybe the Bay and Wahlberg pair up was just not meant to be.

3. Devil’s Due

Found-footage movies genre hits an all time low with this one. “Devil’s Due” had the perfect recipe for horror but there was no built. Apart from it being ridiculous, it was also dull and clichéd, and the movie was anything but scary. We would have much rather have watched something else, honestly.

4. The Expendables 3

“The Expendables” franchise has been toying with our affection for action stars of the past since its first instalment in 2010. Unfortunately for the franchise, its latest instalment, “The Expendables 3″ was to us, the least successful of the franchise. Maybe it’s about time to pull the plug on this brainless franchise.

5. The Other Woman

If there was one word we’d pick to describe this movie it would be “brutal”. From what could have been a crowd-pleasing comedy of female solidarity and revenge, “The Other Woman” was nothing but a mess thanks to tissue-thin characters, lame dialogues, and horrid comedy that came off sounding like it was forced or improvised on the spot.

6. A Million Ways To Die In The West

Uh oh. It looks like someone forgot to tell Seth MacFarlane that moviegoers were expecting his Western comedy to actually be funny. Such a let down from the creator of “Family Guy” and “Ted”, “A Million Ways To Die In The West” lacked direction and was immensely boring.

There you have it. Our list of movies which we found to be an utter waste of time so far this year. If you agree or disagree with our list, do share your thoughts with us in the comments section.
