Airbnb, the world’s largest community-driven hospitality company, has unique listings in 190 countries and travellers can belong anywhere. Although it hasn’t fully caught on in Malaysia just yet, it’s a community that has definitely grown over the span of just a few years as Malaysians are becoming more and more accustomed to discovering and booking unique accommodations around the world.
Recently, Airbnb Malaysia announced a collaboration with “Whatever That Was”, a series of online travel videos and articles of people, places and moments. The series was founded by Point8cam, a Malaysian film maker with more than 5 years of professional experience in the local industry.

Together with his wife and travel partner, Hanie Hidayah- a Malaysian blogger and social media enthusiast, they combined their expertise and passion to share their followers journeys filled with people, experiences and culture.
“Whatever There Was” was originally videos of people and places that the couples encountered throughout their line of work. After about 3 years of starting this project, it gained a loyal following among fellow travelers, social media followers and people who have interest in traveling. Starting mid 2014, “Whatever There Was” is on a new homeground – website and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, to compile all traveling experiences whether in written articles, photos or videos in one hub.
