After announcing the official release date for the X-Men spin-off film “Deadpool”, 20th Century Fox has set a new release date for both the “Fantastic Four” reboot and “Assassin’s Creed”.
Unfortunately, both films will NOT be released any sooner than we would expect.
According to The Wrap, insiders have revealed that the film adaptation of Ubisoft hit video game “Assassin’s Creed” is struggling right now and won’t be ready in time. Thus, the studio was forced to push the film to an unspecified release date in 2016.
Starring X-Men star Michael Fassbender, the film was originally slated for release on May 22, 2015. However, the film was later pushed back to June 19, 2015 and delayed once again to August 7, 2015.
Although the original article has been taken down, various sources reported that “Iron Man” star Robert Downey Jr. may join the cast of “Assassin’s Creed” in the role of Leonardo da Vinci.
Meanwhile, the change of release date for “Assassin’s Creed” has forced Fox to relocate the release date for “Fantastic Four” reboot. The “Fantastic Four” reboot will now take over the original “Assassin’s Creed” spot and is slated for release on August 7, 2015. YA film adaptation of John Green’s “Paper Town” will take FF’s old date and move up from July 31, 2015 to June 19, 2015.
