Boy oh boy, the rest of 2014 is looking hella’ fun!

Malaysia’s creative arts festival, Urbanscapes, will be celebrating its 12th year with a month-long of activities including satellite shows, a host of parties and pocket events throughout the month of November, before culminating in a full-fledged festival on December 6th (Saturday).
Slated to take place at Horse Ranch, Resorts World Genting in the highlands, just north of the capital city, Urbanscapes 2014 is something everyone should look forward to! Known for its off-beat festival sites, Urbanscapes is the first to introduce a highland festival experience to the Malaysian festival culture.
This December 6th, festival goers will get to navigate through the tree-lined driveway that opens up to the tranquil, sun-lit plains of the Horse Rance, Resorts World Genting, where the average temperature it at a cooling and comfortable crisps of 22°C. Understanding that travelling to and back from Genting could be quite a hassle for festival goers, Urbanscapes has ensured that a vast array of accommodation and transportation options will be available for attendees to choose from.
Founder of the festival, Adrian Yap, said:
The team here at Urbanscapes has always taken pride in selecting unique venues. We believe the venue — in addition to the arts, music and culture — is an experience itself. We’ve worked very hard with our venue partner in securing a very special site that has never been used before for any event, let alone a festival. It’s 40-minutes away, but 10°C cooler.

According to Yap, “As of today, we’re offering just a sneak peak into the line-up. There is much more to come as this would be Urbanscapes’ most diverse line-up to date.” The line up featuring regional and international bands including its headliners are expected to be announced at a later date.
Giving fans and festival goers a sneak peek into what they can expect from #Urbanscapes2014, organisers have confirmed that Scottish synthpop band Chvrches will be playing for an exclusive Urbanscapes Satellite Show at 7.00pm on November 19th (Wednesday) at KL Live.
At the Horse Ranch, festival goers can look forward to rocking out with indie rock band Local Natives and The Lemonheads as well as Malaysia’s very own OJ Law, Ali Aiman and Najwa.
