Listen up, everyone!
There’s a reason why you shouldn’t mess with Queen Bey because this is what you’ll get: a diss track from Beyonce with a little help from Nicki Minaj!
The track was released after Nicki Minaj delayed the release of her new single, “Anaconda” to make way for the surprise remix of Beyonce’s “Flawless”. The remix marks Nicki Minaj’s first collaboration with Beyonce after her new single, “Bang Bang” with Jessie J and Ariana Grande reached the #1 on iTunes.
In the song, the rapper is noticeably throwing shade at the haters as she sings:
Yo, like MJ doctor, they killing me, Propofol, I know they hope I fall, But tell ‘em winning is my motherf****** protocol, ‘Cause I score before I ever throw the ball.
But why the diss, you ask?
That’s because it’s a diss track aimed at the haters who spread the rumours about Beyonce divorcing her husband Jay Z. The song opened with a brief introduction of herself, which then “escalated” to the part where she addresses the infamous elevator brawl between her husband Jay Z and her sister Solange Knowles
We escalate, up in this b**** like elevators, of course sometimes s*** goes down when there’s a billion dollars on an elevator.
The song goes back to its familiar tune quoting the original lyrics from her hit single, “Flawless”. With all the fame and star power she has, the singer sang proudly with the standout line, “I wake up looking this good. And I wouldn’t change it if I could. And you can say what you want. I’m the s***.”
Feel the burn? Exactly. That’s Queen Bey reminding us how she couldn’t care less about what you say about her relationship with Jay Z. She wouldn’t sing about how flawless she is if she isn’t confident.
So, yes it’s a “flawless” remix. Just flawless.
