Over the weekend, thousands of devotees turned up at Sime Darby Medical Centre (SDMC) in Subang Jaya with only one purpose – to catch a glimpse of Virgin Mary. Or at least it was an apparition of the divine being, the first known one in Malaysia.
The image on the glass window on the seventh floor of the outpatient centre (North Tower of SDMC) was first discovered by a cleaner, who claimed it could not be wiped away. It was also said that the image could only be seen from outside the window.

21-year-old businessman Sheree Rao was one of the first to go up inside to get a close look at the window pane where the image appeared and he said, “I touched the glass, thinking it could be paint or something else. But there was nothing”. Since then, access to the window from inside the building has been restricted by the hospital. (Source)
Some of whom have been visiting the site for several days have said that the image had grown clearer and brighter as the days passed.

Due to the overwhelming pouring in of Catholic devotees, the SDMC hospital management has decided to have the panel allegedly bearing the image of the Virgin Mary removed and handed over to the Marian Church of our Lady of Lourdes Klang The decision was made after consultation with the Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, Tan Sri Rev. Murphy Pakiam, for more conducive prayer and reflection sessions, taking into consideration the direct effect this may have on SDMC’s emergency services.
