The ‘President of Malaysian Hip-Hop’ Joe Flizzow‘s highly anticipated album – Havoc marked it’s release over the weekend AND GUESS WHAT? We from HYPE, were present to support the big bro! Havoc consists of 14 songs, all in the Malay language. Songs from the album were mainly recorded at Joe Flizzow’s own studio, called the 13th Floor Studios, over a period of 2 years. Joe worked closely with his prodigy, SonaOne throughout the entire songwriting process and their close collaboration is reflected in the 9 songs produced by the latter. Other producers on the album include DJ Biggie, Syaheed, Yasin & Ajai. Havoc also sees him collaborating with legendary rock star, Amy Search on ‘Takbir Cinta‘ and joining forces once again with Indonesian superstar songbird, Rossa on ‘Katakan‘.

The album’s lead single ‘Havoc‘ featuring Altimet & SonaOne has already generated an incredible nationwide buzz having reached number 1 on the Malaysia iTunes chart as well as becoming the trending topic on Twitter (#HAVOC). This unprecedented interactive engagement on social media has led to exciting and innovative brand collaborations with Suzuki, Samsung, KL Hop-On Hop-Off & Alla Fonte to name a few.
The release of HAVOC also marks the beginning of a progressive partnership between Kartel Records and Sony Music Entertainment Malaysia, one which truly encompasses the meaning of a 360 degree deal.
