Reeling of their ‘nothing-short-of’ amazing performance at Urbanscapes 2013 last night, we at HYPE are currently going through something we would like to call, the ‘post-Franz Ferdinand-show’ stress! Yes…We still can’t get over the awesomeness that was Franz Ferdinand performing LIVE in Malaysia, for the first time. And my oh my, wasn’t that a banging concert! And out of all the songs played last night, this one probably got the most interaction from the thousands of Malaysians that were dancing and singing along to the boys from Glasgow.
The mid-2000′s post-punk revivalist band first broke out into prominence after their self titled, debut album released and garnered worldwide attention thanks to hits like “Take Me Out”…as well as today’s favorite, “Do You Want To”. Since then, Franz Ferdinand have been mainstays on charts around the world while picking up tonnes of prestigious accolades; notably a Mercury award, a few NME’s as well as a bunch of BRIT awards. All this while, still managing to sell a truck loads of albums and singles and touring around the globe. For those of you who weren’t already believers of Franz Ferdinand prior to this post (or perhaps, last night’s performance)…It’s not too late. Take a chance. The music might just move you.
