This just in, the government has denied the rumours that have been circulating via sms and social media avenues. According to sources, the Deputy Finance Minister took to Twitter to dismiss rumours that the RON 95 type fuel was to be increased a furtherHe al RM0.10.

He also said that the government had spent about RM2 million a month on fuel and LPG subsidies. “The amount is very big but it is mostly enjoyed by the rich. We need subsidies that are mostly for the poor” he added.
The rumours also made the public storm out to petrol stations to fill fuel.
