The late rapper’s mother, Afeni Shakur has been rumoured to be producing an upcoming biopic just days after his death anniversary. Deadline online had reported that Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films and Morgan Creek Productions will lead the movie, which will be called “Tupac.”
The biopic will feature the late rapper’s musical journey which has been in development since 2011. Tupac Shakur was shot and killed in 1996 at the age of 25. During his time as a rapper, he became one of the most celebrated hip-hop artists with an enduring legacy and influence.
The late rapper had not had a biography of himself on film before, but has been featured in “Notorious,” the biopic of the Notorious B.I.G, who was ‘influential’ for the West Coast – East Coast rivalry often heard in rap music.
Production for ‘Tupac’ is scheduled for 2014.
