The first ever Official Malaysian Hip Hop Awards is here!
In a press conference held yesterday, The MoveMint and Bite Media are here to commemorate and award members of the Malaysian Hip Hop Community and their contributions towards the music.
“Over the past 10 years I’ve had the chance to witness the Malaysian Hip Hop scene grow and develop into its own. With so much hard work and dedication by members of the scene, we also realized that this input was going unrecognized by the mainstream awards already in existence, whose main focus seems bent on an artists’ commercial success or popularity, rather than skill and dedication to their artistic craft.”

The ceremony is scheduled to be held this November 2013, which is expected to draw in some of the most respected and talented Hip Hop artists our country has to offer. The heart of the awards platform is to include elements of Hip Hop within it’s categories. Here are some of the categories listed:
- Best Hip Hop Artist
- Best Hip Hop Group
- Best New Artist [Solo]
- Best Producer
- Album/Mixtape Of The Year
- Song Of The Year
- Best Hip Hop DJ
- Best B-Boy [Solo]
- Best B-Boy Crew
- Best Beatboxer
- Best Graffiti Artist
- Best Graffiti Crew
- Best Music Video
Submissions for MY Hip Hop Awards will begin on September 23rd, 2013 and the closing dateline is on the 10th of October, 2013. The final nominations will be announced by the 20th of October.

You can be apart of the Awards, as members of the public will get a chance to vote for your favourites for 2 weeks! All songs can be submitted as a Soundcloud links and Youtube links (for videos).
For the B-Boys, you may submit videos and a profile. Graffiti Artists need to submit your 5 best pieces of your work together with your profile.
