You heard right. Superstar producer Timbaland will be very much involved in the production of the late King Of Pop Michael Jacksons album.
He was approached by Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid with a “big” idea of producing an upcoming MJ project. Similar to 2010′s Michael, the as-yet-untitled LP will consist of unreleased vocals from the King of Pop. The first single will be titled “Chicago” and “Sounds like Today.”
Shedding some light on his work with MJ’s forthcoming posthumous LP, Timbaland adds, “It’s hard to bring anything out because now you’re just going to hear my music with his voice on it. So I can take and flip it a little bit and put another tagline and some words and make it a little more current but don’t lose the essence of you getting Michael Jackson’s unreleased stuff with Timbaland putting Timbo underneath it.”
“You got to be a true Michael Jackson fan to appreciate what I’m about to do,” he advised before confirming that work on the album should be rapped by year’s end. Finally, Timbaland says, “Now after I do Michael Jackson, I will be the man.”
Timbaland and Revolt TV continue to deliver ear-catching news, as they’ve released a clip revealing Timbaland’s work on a posthumous project using Michael Jackson’s vocals.
