Boys! Keep your eyes peeled on the silver screen as the gorgeous redhead, Christina Hendricks, is set star in the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s best-selling thriller “Dark Places” as a stripper! The actress will join forces with Charlize Theron, Chloa Moretz, Nicholas Hoult and Corey Stoll in the Gilles Paques-Brenner film.
The “Mad Men” star plays Krissi Cates, who accused a man (Stoll) of being a child molester years ago. Krissi is left to deal with her secrets from her past that have implications for the accused man’s older sister, played by Charlize Theron. “Dark Places” is the second novel by Flynn to score a movie deal. “Gone Girl,” a 2012 best-seller, will receive an adaptation by David Fincher with stars Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck in the leading roles.
Christina Hendricks, Emmy-nominated star, will be gracing the screens more often now that she has 6 film projects up her sleeve including a directorial debut from the hunky Ryan Gosling in the upcoming movie “How to Catch A Monster”. Gosling and Hendricks worked side-by-side in the movie “Drive” thus leading him to cast the redhead as a single mother who gets carried away into a dark fantasy world when her teenage son discovers a secret road leading into an underwater town. Christina is set to act in “God’s Pocket” together with Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Richard Jenkins in the upcoming film that will be directed by “Mad Men” co-star, John Slattery.
Hendricks is not the first actress to play the clothing-shedding-money-making role as Jennifer Aniston, Natalie Portman and Marisa Tomei has graced the stage and pole in recent years.
