After the near-fatal drowning incident involving famed R&B singer Ushers’ son, ex-wife Tameka Foster has lost emergency custody battle over their son Usher Raymond V. The judge from Atlanta had dismissed the request from Foster, describing the incident as “an awful incident,” and advised the 34-year-old singer to keep his ex-wife aware of his whereabouts and who’s taking care of the children.
Raymond V had fallen into the swimming pool in their home and got stuck at the bottom of the pipeline. Lucky for him, a foreman at their home immediately pulled the child to safety.

Usher then left the courtroom without addressing the media, shortly after hugging his ex-wife upon verdict. The couple split in 2007 just after two years of marriage. Usher was granted custodial rights to his two children. Several sources indicated that his ex-wife had filed to take custody over the kids, claiming that their sons, then aged 4 and 5 respectively ‘preferred’ to live with her rather than caretakers who live with them when Usher isn’t around.
Foster’s 11 year-old had died last year after being run over by a jet ski.
