Yesterday, a giant gold truck was spotted driving around Los Angeles, announcing an October 22nd release date for something called Prism, which we assume is the title of her new album. Perry, 28, had confirmed this via her Twitter account, though a friend who duly tweeted “Katy Perry – Prism – 10-22-13.” alongside with the image of the golden truck:
Katy Perry later tweeted. “Don’t worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map.” She kept her word, sending one-liners to lucky tweeters, and confirming that Prism is her fourth LP, not just a single.
The new album will be Perry’s fourth studio outing. An official comment hasn’t been made by the singer yet. Prism’s first single is reportedly titled “Rainbow.” We hear it’s called “RAWR”
Her last album, Teenage Dream, racked up over 6 million copies sold worldwide and several hit singles including “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.,” “Last Friday Night,” and “The One That Got Away.” The album re-release in 2012 included two new singles: “Part of Me” and “Wide Awake.”
