DJ duo, ‘Empire Of The Sun’ took a nasty swipe at fellow DJ’s, Daft Punk. Luke Stelle, one half of the Walking on a Dream star took it to the helmet-donning French duo after watching their rival’s success, topping charts world over after the release of Random Access Memories after eight years of hiatus.
The Australian duo’s new album has received mixed results, leading to Steele saying “ I was aware that Daft Punk were getting more press coverage than our record, but I wasn’t too concerned. Ice on the Dune is filled with such great songs that it’ll hang around a lot longer than some of those other records that came out around the same time”. Luke also added “They had a great marketing campaign, but we’ve got better songs”. Boys, you’d have to get really lucky to top Random Access Memories at this rate. A piece of humble pie would work too.
Empire of the Sun, formed in 2008 is well-known for their track ‘Walking on a Dream’ and ‘We are The People’ hailing from Sydney, Australia. Their award-winning album Walking on a Dream shot the duo to international stardom and has been certified double platinum in Australia and gold in the United States.
