There’s much more to hip-hop than diamonds, fast cars and the ladies for the good folks from Raising The Bar would like to give you a look into the hip hop scene in Kuala Lumpur. Partnering up with bi-monthly spoken word event, Numious KL, RTB bring’s you RTB Poetry Jam ala Def Poetry Jam.
This time around, the winds have changed as we will witness two worlds (Hip Hop & Spoken Word), collide. Representing Raising The Bar will be Altimet, Words Manifest, Sayla, Shikara, Aman-RA and Dafrosty. On the other side of the ring, Numious will be represented by Elaine Foster, Jalam Raslan – The Spoken Word, Sheena Baharudim, Aether and Melizarani T. Selva.
The Bassment Syndicate will also hit the stage to tickle your ear drums with their fresh tunes from their newly-unleashed debut album “Morning”. Ego and Tactmatic will be hitting centre stage for a special performance of ‘Machas’ which was recently released, depicting a modern-day interpretation of the middle-class-Indian-dude’s anthem.
DJ Mastermind will be on the decks all night to entertain everyone with his mix of sick beats and music.
While you enjoy the good vibes and music, you may burn a little hole in your pocket as there will be pop-up shops outside featuring home-grown brands like The Swagger salon, Gifted, Risk, Dreamscape and many more.
The event will be hosted at The Bee Publika on 18 August, hosted by Jin Hackman and Mr. Dan with the help of the lovely Sheena Baharudin, renowned poet and recent book author.
