Code blue, code blue! Dr Meredith Grey is losing her best friend!
ABC’s long-running medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy is set to lose star, Sandra Oh, who plays the brainy-manic-depressive Cardiothoracic fellow, Dr Cristina Yang, in Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
The star copped a Golden Globe for her role as Dr Yang, is one of the six original cast members whose two-year contracts are nearly up. Oh is set to leave the series at the end of current season 9. Shonda Rhimes, the show’s creator and executive producer, said she is grateful for what she described as “brilliant” work. Rhimes also said the series will savour Oh’s character of Dr Cristina Yang in the upcoming 10th season, giving her the exit that she definitely deserves.
Oh’s publicists, has not respond to requests for comments. Amongst other stars that have left Grey’s are Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight.
Sandra Oh is a Canadian actress who is popular for her role as Dr Cristina Yang in Grey’s Anatomy has been in the entertainment industry since 1989 acting in many movies and television drama. You may find her familiar as Principal Gupta, starring with Anne Hathaway in her debut movie, The Princess Diaries. Oh will be seen in the movie The Goree Girls, starring with fellow Grey’s star Ellen Pompei, Jennifer Aniston, Kelly Rowland amongst other actors. The movie is set to release on 23rd August 2013.
